The bus ride to school was boring. Since I was the last person to get on the bus, a bunch of annoying middle schoolers got to sit in the back, making me sit with a little girl -who I later learned was named Alyson.

"Hi!" A pair of big blue eyes peered at me.

"Hello," I smiled at her. "What's your name?"

"Alyson, are you Brittani? You look like a Brittani."

"No, I'm Claudia." I really didn't feel like talking, but this girl was way too happy, and I didn't want to ignore her.

The rest of the drive consisted of Alyson showing me her book order, and telling me about how her favourite book was 'Barbie and the Secret Door.' She was very cute, but she got annoying, fast.

I decided to put my headphones in and listen to music, for the rest of the drive. Not just because of Alyson, but because the middle schoolers thought it would be cool to listen to 'Talk Dirty To Me' in the back of the bus.

Kill Me.

After I was dropped off at school, I went straight to my locker to set up. I grabbed a binder, and a few pencils for first period. There was still fifteen minutes until class started, and I would be more than happy to not spend it associating with the youth at my school.

Even starting Eleventh grade, the children- yes children- in this place, acted like the were in pre-school, and thats being nice.

"CLAUDIA!!" A high pitched squee rang through my ears.

It was my friend Lauren. She had shut my locker door, and before I knew it, her arms were wrapped around me as she was bouncing up and down- bless her soul.

"Ooohemgee I haven't seen you since.." She pauses, as if counting the days, when in reality, it was only about a week ago. "FOREVER!"

"I'm sure it wasn't that long ago," was my only reply, as I tried to peel her arms from around my neck.

Suddenly the bell to start first period had gone, and I was very grateful for it.

Lauren and I said our goodbyes and headed in our own directions. When we met up last week, it was to go over our class schedule. We only had third and fifth period together -Science and Gym- and of course lunch.

I made my way to first period, which was math, one of my favourite classes.

"Ow!" I said, rubbing the top of my shoulder. I had collided with someone, smaking shoulders. I seem to be extra clumsy this morning.

"Sorry," was all he said. He didn't even bother to look at me. All I had seen was that he was tall -about 6'1- and weaing a blue shirt.

Jerk.

I made my way to my seat, dropping my book and sitting down. I looked around to see a few familar faces- although none of whom I actually like, or would consider a friend.

Glaring around the room, I came across an unfamilar face. Sure, I might not know everybody at my school, but in a school of at the most; 700 students, you know when someone's new.

After much examiniation of this new specimen in my class, I came to the conclusion that he is blue shirt. Oh yes, the jerk who hit me, or uh, that I hit.

Math class went by relatively fast, since most of it was just orientation, so now it was time for a five minute break between classes. I thought this would be a great time to confront blue shirt, and get a real apology.

I'm extremely stubborn, and I don't let things go, if it wasn't already obvious.

I saw blue shirt coming out of the classroom and I decided to hitch a ride walking beside him.

"You hit me." I just came out with it.

"I what?" I think I caught him a bit off guard. He seemed to be in a bit of a rush, so I had to pick up the speed.

"Well, thismorningwhenwewerewalkingintoclassyouranintomeandIjustwantedanapology." I let out a big gasp of air.

"Woah," He laughed " Slow down. Explain again, slowly. " We started walking at a normal pace now.

"Well, this morning when we were walking into class, both at the same time, obviously, we had ran into each other. You did say sorry, but you didn't bother to even look at me." I looked at my feet, I hated looking people in the eyes. "I just want a normal apology." I looked at him, staring at his nose.

"I didn't mean to." He smiles. His teeth, perfectly aligned, and white.

I could feel something in my stomach, I think it's the flu.

"That's not an apology." I crossed my arms. Whether he did it inadvertently or not, I would like some sort of remorse; is that so wrong?

"Well, stranger, I'm sorry for running into you, and I promise to never do it again." That smile, still engraved on his face.

A euphoric feeling ran tingles down my body, as I reached my hand out, "I'm Claudia," I smile.

"I'm Drew," He shakes my hand.

The bell goes, and this time, I'm not so grateful for it.
