Writer's Block:
I have just recently got over a pretty bad case of writer's block and lack of motivation and I'd like to share how I overcame it.
A part of it was because I got stuck at a scene. I knew what I wanted to write but I didn't know how to do it. So, I just kept putting it off. Don't do this! I ended up looking online for tips on how to write the scene, and even though I don't think I actually even used the tips, they still gave me a lot of inspiration.
Sometimes when you have writer's block, people will tell you to "just write," but it isn't always that simple. Sometimes you really do just need to take a break for a few days and give your brain a rest. But don't take it too far! After a few days, try to return to where you left off in your writing. Don't let a few days become a few months!
After not writing for such a long time, I think the main thing that helped me was just forcing myself to sit down and write. Don't take this the wrong way though. Like I said in the last paragraph, sometimes you really do just need to take a break. However, I took a break for too long, so I just needed to push myself in the right direction or it would have taken ages for me to write again.
In short, my advice would be to take a short break when you need one, research advice for parts you're struggling in, and when needed, give yourself a little push.
I don't know if this will actually help at all, but if you have questions then feel free to ask and I'll try to answer!
