Smudged Mirror (Finished)

Chapter 7:

The next day Kate and Liam were on their way to San Francisco.

"Is the baby secured and strapped in?" asked Kate.

"Yes she is, Kate." Liam and Kate hopped into the trucked and were on their way.

On their way there, Kate makes a stop.

"Imma be right back, Lee." She walks into the liquor store. In the liquor store she notices a shadow walking around following her. At first she thought it was being followed but she then noticed that it was some type of spirit. She walks and stops to turn around. What the fuck, She whispers to herself. She grabs herself a bottle of white hennessey then goes to pay for it. When she goes into her wallet to pay for the bottle, her money is gone. What?

"Liam, honey, do you see my money in the car?" asks Kate.

"No, I haven't seen anything."

"Thank you hun." Kate hangs up the phone.

"Hey, I won't be able to buy this so put this back for me please?"

"Yeah, yeah whatever." He grabs the bottle as Kate walks out of the door.

Kate walks back to the car to find Vicky and Liam gone. She sits in the car for almost an hour. No sign of Vicky and Liam. Then two minutes later Liam is back but the baby is gone.

"Kate have you seen Victoria? I can't find her anywhere." Kate stares at Liam then narrows her eyes.

"What did you do to that baby?" Liam could tell that she was very angry with him.

"Baby I would never hurt Victoria and you already know that. I got out of the car when you called me to see if you left your money in the car. When I got in and turned back the baby was gone." Liam's face flushed when he forgot to mention that the door was open and Vicky wasn't buckled into the car seat at the time. Kate walks towards the front of the car when she spotted Vicky in the parking lot picked up by herself.

"It looks like someone is holding her by her neck," says Liam. Vicky starts to peel at her neck, and start choking. Kate runs to Vicky and starts yanking her from the air as hard as she can, ignoring all the people that looked at her.

"Fuck are you looking at? A mother tryna make sure her baby don't die, huh?" 

Liam then rushes to Kate's side and slips her a knife. Kate looks at Liam and he nods his head. She stabbed Vicky only two feet in before Vicky stopped flying and landed flat on the floor, crying. Everyone was clapping, watching as Kate rescued her baby.

"Let's get into the car and head straight for San Francisco."
