14. I Do It

"C'mon sweetie," Beca cooed, plucking her two year old off the floor.

"Vroom! Car!" Brie squealed, clutching a wooden car in her tiny hands.

"Let's take a break for lunch okay?" Beca walked to their kitchen. "Guess what I made," she paused in suspense, "Spaghetti! You like that right?"

Brie's mouth opened in surprise. "'Getti! 'Getti!" She wiggled in excitement.

"That's right!" Beca plopped her into her highchair, securing the straps.

The brunette grabbed two bowls from the stove, along with forks. She pulled up a chair, facing her kid. "Are you ready?"

Brie grinned, her whole face lighting up. "'Getti!" she demanded.

Beca twirled a little on the baby fork. "Here comes the car! Vroom vroom!"

Brie glared at her, snapping her mouth closed. "No. I do it."

"Open up honey," Beca murmured, waiting patiently.

"I do it!" Brie insisted, shaking her head. "My 'getti."

Beca picked up her own bowl, taking a forkful. "Mmmm, yummy. Want some?"

Brie nodded frantically, reaching for her fork.

"Momma will help you," Beca quickly set her own bowl on the tray, beating her to it, holding it close to Brie's mouth. "Yummy spaghetti for Brie."

Brie scrunched her little nose, glaring at her mom. "I do it," she insisted. "I do it," she frowned. Beca didn't waver, her patience starting to thin.

"Just one bite, then you can try to feed yourself," she promised, staring Brie straight in the eye.

"No," Brie answered staring back before sticking her hand in Beca's spaghetti, taking a fistful and shoving it into her mouth. "I do it." She said with her mouth full.

Beca couldn't help but laugh. Brie definitely got her moms' stubbornness. "Fine, you do it."

Brie raised her fists in celebration. "I do it!" she proclaimed. Just as she did, Chloe walked into the kitchen, back from work.

"What's going on here?" she wondered, amused.

Beca looked at her smirking, shaking her head. Before she could answer, Brie opened her mouth, proudly puffing out her chest. "I do it!"
