Chapter 6:
I looked into the mirror on the wall in Val's room. My stomach was starting to get a slight bump on it. I know I can't hide this forever, but I can try.
"Olivia, what are you doing?" Val asked me when she walked into the room and saw me examining my stomach.
"Nothing!" I said alarmed and pulled my shirt back down.
"Didn't look like nothing to me." Val said and laughed.
"Okay, fine, I was looking to see if I'm showing yet." I confessed.
"It was pretty obvious." Val said.
I was sitting in History class, taking notes as normal when I was called to the counselor's office. I knew the drill. It wasn't the first time I had to go to Ms. Jone's office before. I sat down in the seat facing her desk.
"Hello, how are you feeling today?" She asked me nicely.
"I'm feeling pretty good today actually." I replied and smiled.
I knew I had to make the best out of this situation, because this baby isn't just going to go away on it's own. This baby is my responsibility and I'm going to give this baby the best life I possibly can.
"That's good" Ms. Jones said.
"Have you decided if you are going to keep the baby or give he or she up for adoption?" Ms. Jones asked me.
"I'm defiantly going to keep him." I replied with a smile.
I don't see the point in giving your child up, but then again, it can be a blessing for the people who can't have kids. Adoption is just not for me though.
"Ah, have you considered maybe getting a job?" She asked me.
"No" I replied.
"Well it might be best if you do, because baby food, diapers, and clothes aren't free. You need money for those things." She explained.
She has a point. But what kind of person would give a job to a pregnant teenager?
"I'll consider it" I said.
"Is Amel going to be involved in your baby's life?" She asked me.
"I'm not sure exactly." I replied.
I couldn't just tell her that my baby's daddy is probably getting laid right now.
"Have you talked to him lately?" She asked me.
I wish she would just stay out of this and stop asking me questions.
"Amel wants to be involved, so he probably will and yes, I have talked to him and he's dating Zoey Harris." I replied.
I could see she was going to ask me another question, so I got up and left the room before I could hear the next question.
