To The Late Nights .

Chapter 1

3.02am

amy:"have you seen how cute eddy is? geez his recent recent post is so cute!!"      

scarlet:"ugh how long more till you actually start TALKING  to him?????? it's been weeks, i'm going to give up listening to you fan-girling over him."

amy:"he doesn't even know i exist man :("

scarlet:"he will, once i tell him"

amy:"don't you even dare maggie"

I couldn't get him off my mind. Should I text him? I had a reason to. He uploaded an Instagram story about his cats. I could say "cute! like you :)" ugh disgusting . I couldn't say it obviously so I shrugged it off, turned off the lights and went to sleep.

I woke up to an alarm that wasn't even supposed to exist at 6am on a freaking Saturday morning. pissed. I scrolled through social media and came across a picture of Eddy with his friends, Matt and Leo? If I wasn't mistaken. They were all prefects in our school, dramatic, because they're literally every girl's dream crush. Leo had a pretty girlfriend, Ronnie. Matt and Eddy were single teehee. Leo is a Taekwondo black belt student which is kinda cool in a way. Eddy was ordinary, quiet,he's talented in taking pictures. His Instagram feed is my definition of satisfaction, nature to sky-scrappers to his cats. I can't help but smile when I go through it for the 1000th time. 

I jumped off my bed, went to mama's room to kiss her good morning. I've got to do that more often. My brother was already up downstairs with his tablet. I made us a cheesy omelette , kudos to me being a good sister. I should do that more often too. I'm one to think a lot but never do it, I never had the confidence to do anything tbh. I tend to fuck up everything literally, I live with so much regrets and fear. Everyone has it, but I just let it pull me down more and more when I know I shouldn't. 

I rinsed my bowl and went back up to my room. Out of boredom, I texted Scarlet 

amy:"bij u up?"

scarlet:"how could i even sleep you know we have to do the Geo assignment"

fuck. the assignment is due on Monday.

amy:"shit . how could i forget ?! jesus christ. " I literally sighed so loud in my room. god Amelia how could you forget?!

scarlet:"let's do it together. come to Eve's at 11 see u there."

amy:"aight g"

Eve's was our town's typical hangout spots, students go there to do their revision. It quiet down after Starbuck's opened up somewhere uptown. At least the chances of meeting people we know are like 40%  now. 

It was 10.30 already, I took everything I need and ordered a Grab.

 Eve's never changed a bit, the faded pastel yellow paint outside. Feels exactly like home inside, the musky scent, with just a tad of vanilla. These walls never felt foreign , filled with pictures of Evelyn travelling around the globe, the owner of Eve's Garden Cafe. She's a very sweet lady, petite I'd say. She always remembers a face and their usuals. 

"Caramel latte and the usual cheesecake my dear?" I could hear Evelyn from the counter top.

"You know me the best." we exchanged a wink.

It was almost 11.30am ,Maisie kept me company, Evelyn's cat. A cute Tabby cat she was.

I finished my cheesecake when Scarlet came through the door. Saying hello to Eve.

"did you walk over here? what took you so long?"

"my brother got up late ugh"

Scarlet lives with her brother, only the two of them. Her dad passed away 4 years ago, her mom went MIA when she was a small child. She's under the care of her aunt , but she's living in a house just with her brother.

i nodded my head understandingly

"where have you left off?"

"investigation."

After all the arguments and discussions we could finally put down our pens and finished up around a quarter after 5. I didn't realize my mom rang my phone 3 times asking if I wanted boba tea from Tealive. (bae btw) I called her back to tell her I was having dinner at Eve's and that I'll be home a bit late.

We stretched our arms exhausted from writing the 20 damn pages long assignment. Then the doorbells chimed, a group of people came in, four boys. I could recognize those voices from a mile away.
