The one that got away

Chapter 2

Jennie

She knows that she can never avoid it. For weeks , ever since she received the invitation from Jisoo informing her of their reunion , she had avoided hearing her name . 

Well she had survived and succeeded to act unaffected but deep inside her , she was breathing erratically and her world got suspended by just hearing her name and she knows they will meet sooner this night .

"Lisa ? No, i haven't seen her since when I left , well is she coming ?"

"Of course , our best dancer , she is coming . She is into every event that goes in this town . A regular social butterfly and successful self-made business woman . Everyone loves her here " Seulgi stated .

"She even help me to notify everyone ,Jendeuk "Jennie's trembling hand found it's way trying to fix her strands of hair .

"How is she " She act naturally but failed to hide the nervousness .

"Do you mean how does she look ? " Seulgi grin wickedly .

"Babe stop messing with her " Irene lectured Seulgi .

"Sorry " Seulgi apologetically said.

Jisoo grab Jennie's arm to pushed her up and mingle with their batchmates . "Hey" she chuckled .

"Go ! and mingle , get something to drink before our friends toast you with teasing and mind you a lot of people wanted to see you , well catch up later ". Jisoo wink at her .

Shyly at first , then , she recognize more of her former classmates with excitement Jennie forgot her anxiousness and got caught up in the party .She saw Bobby the class Cassanova who keep on exchanging girlfriends every week.

"Jennieyah , baby are you thirsty ? Wanna get me you something " he approach her.

" oh no , i just had one , maybe later " she smiled .

"our Jennie has finally decided to step out from her throne ". He grinned at her .

"Come on Bobby stop with the silliness and I change my mind just get me something to drink " she smiled at him and shook her head.

" why so sudden ? , ok wait here " and saw him striding towards the bar counter .

Laughing to herself , she glance down at the ballot someone had shoved into her hand .Later in the evening when everyone had a chance to see everyone else , they will have to share some awards for , the one who married for long and other categories .

" Who gets your vote ?"

Her breathing got suspended , it had been for five years , yet she clearly knew her voice .It was deeper and her voice already matured . It was achingly familiar .She raised her head and look at her and everything inside her stilled when she met those amber eyes .

She was more beautiful , more charismatic than she remembered . She was swept into the magic aura that surrounded her ,that made her more appealing to both men and women .

"So?" she said looking at her intently . "who gets your vote?  " and asked her again.

Her belly felt warm , her senses became sensitive as if she was being swallowed by those stares . She swallowed hard and a steam seemed to invade her peripheral vision so that everything around her faded and blurred . Only Lisa's  image was clear .

" My vote ?" she ask confused " for which category ?" She tried to regain her composure.

"most surprised to see you here " she wasn't smiling . Her eyes busy studying and exploring every feature of her face .

"I guess you did not think I will come " she asked Lisa.

" i didn't know " she shrugged .

"why didn't you think i would ?" She look away.

"i didn't think you have the guts " Lisa's tone with anger . Smiled and the lazy grin was a taunting slap in the face after what she said.

Jennie was hurt and before she could reply , Bobby was pushing a glass of drink into her hand with enthusiasm that it sloshed over her  .

 " Oops, sorry Jennieyah , Hi Lisa " Bobby apologise .

" Excuse me , I'll go to restroom " Jennie tried to escape wiping off with her hand the dripping vodka of her hand and it felt warm .

"Stay I'll get you something to wipe it ? " Bobby squeeze her shoulder.

Lisa managed to slide her hand into her hip pocket of her pants and pull out and offer her a handkerchief . 

Jennie was caught off guard by the act and was not fast enough to accept it . Lisa unfolded her handkerchief and wipe her hand and arm. Both her and Booby was shock .She felt the strong grip of Lisa in her arm and tried to pull away .

"You don't need to do that "

" I know you won't accept it " she answered being annoyed with her remark .

"Thanks anyway " she look away and face Bobby

"which girlfriend did you bring tonight Bobby ?"

"very funny Lisa " dismally Bobby sip his scotch .The flush on his face indicated it wasn't his first .

" Fuck , everyone is trying to have their eyes on me , and also you Lis " Lisa naturally tsk and sit beside her. 

"That's what you get when you try to have all the girls "

" whoa! , Lisa Im not , they are just into my money and they are no good to keep , man . I love them and leave them after knowing it , I'm sorry Jennie " she sighed and nod at him.

She wish at that moment that she was anywhere else . Why did she come ? It was going to be worse than she thought .

"It's alright Bobby " Her smile was fake and she thought her face might look strange and crack with her pressured smile .

"Well , you had the right decision to stay single Jennie " Bobby playfully grinned at her . 

"Marriage is a pain in the ass " he retorted.

"Marriage or divorce? " Lisa asked.

"In my case they are the same " Lisa laugh at Bobby's bleak expression.

"Baby , I'm parched" a blonde sidled up to Lisa and wrap her arm around her waist . The other kittenish hand on Lisa's chest .

Jennie was stunned but what do she expect from her . She heard the news about this new Lisa with various of  woman like she is changing clothes  .

The woman has her fake blonde hair and sinuous red lipstick . Her dress was revealing and showing too much of her skin , even the side of her breast is peaking with the cut of the dress which cannot contain her voluptuous breasts. 

Her nipples were transparent through the thin cloth , a fact she seem to take a delight invitation to fuck her as she look up at Lisa .She exuded sexual invitation with much subtlety as a whistle blast from a rolling freight train . Jennie wonder how Bobby can keep her eyeballs in place seeing the woman .

Lisa put her arm around the blonde's bare shoulders . 

"Sunmi , meet Jennie . You know Bobby already right?" Lisa introduced them.

"Hi " the woman greeted rudely and turned her eyes to Lisa .

"Baby , I'm dying for something to drink " the woman complained .

"Okay " Turning away , Lisa wave her hand to bid goodbye and said over her shoulder .

" Catch you later "she glared at her and both headed toward the bar .
