Troye: I rolled over in my bed, slamming my hand over my vibrating phone. Grunting, I press accept on the call and bring it to my ear "Hello?" I groan, reaching up to rub my tired eyes "H-Hi, is this Troye?" a soft voice asks. I perk up "Yeah it is, does this happen to be Jacob?" I ask, sitting up. He giggles "Yeah it is, listen I know you're probably tired but I was wondering if you'd like to go out for coffee?" he questions, I look over at my glowing clock 8:45. I smile "Yeah sure that sounds amazing, send me your address and I'll pick you up in 30?" Jacob and I successfully made our plans, and I couldn't help but check my hair in the car mirrors as I waited for him in front of his apartment.

I felt my breath hitch as Jacob walked out, a dark green sweater and black skinny jeans situated on his thin frame, his black curls bouncy happily atop his head and his green eyes glowing with excitement. He perks up and walks up to my car, opening the passenger seat and getting in "Hey" he breaths, gently closing the door behind him. I flash him a smile, fixing my sunglasses and starting to drive "So it's been about a month since the accident, how are you doing?" I ask, coming to stop at a red light. Jacob sighs "I'm doing okay, it's my grandmother who isn't. I had only recently connected with my grandparents, I met my grandma through an ancestry website and have been messaging back and forth with her for months so I was much closer to her than I was with my grandpa."

I nod along, continuing to drive. We fall into a peaceful silence, I pay attention to the road as Jacob lets his eyes wander "Have you seen anything like that before?" He suddenly asks, turning his gaze towards me. I raise an eyebrow "Oh that? that was nothing compared to the other stuff I've seen" I reply, pulling into a parking spot. He cocks his head slightly "You've seen worse? like what?" he continues, curiosity pouring into his voice. I stop the car and get out, shutting my door and jogging around, opening the door just as Jacob unbuckles. "Thank you" he whispers, a light tint of red covering his cheeks.

"What do you want?" I ask, looking down at the puzzled boy. He sighs "I think I'll go with a hot chocolate" he states, reaching into his pocket for his wallet. I laugh, placing my hand on his "Hey no I'm paying, why don't you go find a seat you like while I get the drinks?" I say, releasing Jacob's soft hand. He simply nods, turning on his heal and practically skipping away. I shake my head with a smile, turning to the cashier "Can I get two hot chocolates and a blueberry muffin please?" I ask, looking up at the boy. "Sure thing, your total comes out to $12.50, can I get a name for the order?" he replies "Troye" I say, putting my card back into my wallet.

I can't help but smile as I bring our order to the table, Jacob picked a high table with two tall chairs, his feet not quite touching the floor. "Thank you" he says, gently picking up his drink. I nod, sitting across from him. I place the muffin in the middle of the table, hoping that he picks up on the fact that he can most definitely have some of it too. "So Jacob, tell me about yourself" I say, popping a piece of muffin into my mouth. He laughs "Well, my name is Jacob Taylor Bixenman, I'm 22, I'm majoring in music at UCLA, I'm from LA, I have no siblings and my parents live out in Oregon now so it's just me. I really like old music, painting, and piano, uh yeah, that's about it."

I chuckle "Now tell me about you" he continues, taking a piece of muffin in his small fingers. I shrug "Well my name is Troye Sivan Mellet, but I go by Troye Sivan, I'm 23, I graduated high school early and decided to go to medical school to become a paramedic, I'm from Australia, hence the accent, I love singing, being outdoors, dogs, and Nutella. I have two brothers and one sister, all three live back in Brisbane with my mom and dad, that's about it" I laugh. Jacob nods "So you're like really smart then" he states, sipping his hot chocolate. I shrug "I'm guessing you play piano? you have the hands of a pianist" I question, taking a sip of my own drink.

He nods "You're very observant" he comments "It's my job to observe people" I reply, sitting back in my chair.  "I just realized that we went out for coffee and got hot chocolate instead" he comments, a small smile on his face.  I chuckle "The most generic drink" I reply, raising my styrofoam cup.  Jacob giggles, raising his cup to gently tap mine.  "So Jacob, I have to ask; do you have a girlfriend?"

He almost chokes on his drink "Uh no actually I'm uh gay" he chokes out, rubbing the back of his neck.  I laugh "Don't worry so am I, I'm not some like a homophobe or anything, I promise.  You can 100% be yourself around me" I reply, putting my now empty cup back on the table.  Jacob shrugs "You didn't strike me as gay.  Sorry that was rude" he laughs.  I scoff "What do ya mean? Can't you see my nose ring?" I joke, whipping my head to the side with an over exaggerated huff.

Jacob giggles "Oh my gosh you're totally right how could I not see it!" He gasps, bringing his hand to cover his mouth.  I let out a laugh, frowning slightly when my phone begins to buzz "Sorry it's work, I'm on call" I grumble, pulling out my phone.  Jacob nods and sits back watching me as I answer.  "Paramedic Sivan speaking"

"Hi yes this is Jessica from station 16, are you available for a 2:30 pm shift?"

"Yes hi Jessica, I am. I'll be there at 2:30"

"Thank you so much"

I hang up the phone with a heavy sigh "Looks like I have to cut our day short, I'm needed at the station" I say, standing from my seat. I gather our trash and toss it in the bin as Jacob jumps off his seat. "I'm sorry I didn't know you were on call today" he replies, jogging to catch up to me. I shake my head, unlocking my car and opening his door "Don't be" I say, gently shutting the door.

I park in front of his apartment, turning to look at him. "Well that was fun, we'll have to do it again sometime. I'm usually off Monday Tuesday Wednesday but my shifts change all the time so I'll keep you updated" I say, leaning back in my seat. He nods excitedly "You'll have to meet my boyfriend Alex! Oh you two will get along so nicely!"

I swallow the quickly forming lump in my throat "Oh yeah definitely! It was nice seeing you today Jacob" I reply, watching him shut the door. He stops and turns in front of his door, smiling and sending me a small wave. I wave back and pull out of the parking lot just as he enters his apartment. He has a boyfriend? How in the hell did I not see this. I have to tell Caspar.
