Mateo woke up like any other day starting with some light work and breakfast. His BLT was interrupted by the twins, his head commander's children. The crazy raven headed boys loved to pull pranks and seem to have something up their sleeve when Mateo stopped them in their tracks.

"What are you two crazies up to" Mateo huffed playfully sending them a smirk.

"We were going to steal some of the fresh pastries from the kitchen" the boys whispered mischievously.

"You have room for another partner in crime" Mateo whispered back.

The boys nodded and all three of them snuck to the back kitchen entrance. Mateo told the boys that he would go in first and distract the chefs and they could then come in and sneak a few off the counter. All three of the ornery boys made their way into the kitchen and the second they had entered eggs and flour was thrown at Mateo. he was drenched head to toe completely covered and there was a chorus of laughter all around him.

"We got you, Mateo, we got you" the two young boys sang as they danced around him.

The kitchen went dead silent for a moment until Mateo busted out in laughter and the rest following him. One of the chefs walked up to the young prince and handed him a cloth to clean the mix from his face. Once he finally got a good look at the perpetrators he made a symbol of I'll be watching you and made his way to his living quarters. He marched his way up the stairs thinking of ways to get them back for the whole fiasco they had just created. Once he had gotten upstairs he went straight into the shower. Steamrolled from the water in waves and glass fogged up as time seemed to slip away from the prince.

Olivia stood in line waiting to get her mission for the week excited for her newfound declaration of Independence. Olivia had taken a little longer to get ready that morning so she didn't get their first of the line. Her brown wavy hair had given her struggles snapping three different hair ties and not willing to straighten when she took a flat iron to it. She eventually took a scrunchie to it finding it to be the only way to deal with it. She had also misplaced her glasses from the night before so she had been forced to wear her contacts. Nothing would stop her from today though and she would not allow anyone or Anything to stop her. She got up to the desk and her aunt's face seemed to only press further into herself. Olivia had to admit if it wasn't for the evil look she received from her aunt then she would have been the most beautiful woman. Olivia had always looked up to her aunt in some way until about the age of twelve. Alexandra Ducain was a stern woman who had a strong cheekbone and tight lips that were full as a blossom. She was beautiful in every way until Olivia was placed before her. The woman's face would seem to age ten years simultaneously and the cruel look would make a grown man weep. Olivia was mostly used to after years of living with it but it was not wrong of her to want to escape it. Her aunt rolled her eyes as she swayed her youthful-looking hand at Olivia to send her away.

"Meet me in my office for your mission Olivia you should be used to this by now." Alexandra states grudgingly

"No. I am here for a complete solo mission." Olivia states with confidence. The confidence doesn't stay for long as everything around her goes silent. You could have heard a pin drop as everyone heard probably the first person to tell Alexandra No. With one small glare from the woman, everyone went back to working like their life counted on it. Which it might have with an angry Alexandra around not many were known to survive her wrath. What came out of the strict woman's mouth next though would have shocked even the most stupid.

"Sounds like a lovely idea dear I have the perfect mission for you should be easy as a first solo but still holds slight difficulty," Alexandra said with a million-dollar smile. She would have had everyone fooled if Olivia didn't know better. Olivia's dainty hands shakily reached for the document stating her mission. Right as her fingers touched it the page was yanked from what little grasp she had.

"Do remember dear that every mission is to remain private until posted on the completion bored." Alexandra started with a smirk on her face that seeped through her words. Olivia finally to grasp of it and stumbled away with small hope left. Giving herself a pep talk in her head she goes to her room promptly to open the mission. The mission in front of her was not easy at all most in her position would have given it back and opted for a dual mission. Olivia though just couldn't do that she told herself that this mission would start her path off if she could just complete it. When Olivia looked back down at the crisp boring printer paper she had made her decision and nothing would stop her.
⚜----------------------------------------------------⚜

Olivia was the failscape in every situation, she was the one her cousins blamed, the one her aunt put at fault, the one who was sent to fix all the problems. That is just what she was on her way to do but this time she wouldn't be the failscape she would flaunt her mission as hers for once. Olivia was hoping that this mission would be an easy one but she was starting to realize that she had gotten her hopes up just to be crushed. Another massive group of guards had just passed her and they had not been the first. She had slowly inched her way into the castle listening to any clues on where the dragon egg would be. She had almost decided to just go wondering when she heard one maid lean over starting to talk about prince Maximus and how big his room was in the west wing. Olivia praised whatever was looking out for her in the universe as she continued to slowly make her way to the west wing tower. Once Olivia had made it up the killer stairs she only saw two doors and she realized the maid was not kidding on the size of the room. Only for a moment did she question why an egg of all things would need a room as big as the half entirely of a tower but pushed it away as she pushed the door open slowly in case of guards. The room she walked into was massive and wrapped well along with the tower. The blue and gold decorating the room looked higher quality than anything she had seen in a long time. The bed on the one side was bigger than her times two and looked silky to the touch. She almost had gotten wrapped up in the sheer beauty until she noticed a few things. The first was that there was no egg in sight, the other being there was steam coming from one of the nearly unnoticed doors. Perhaps she had gone into the wrong tower but there were no other princes to her knowledge. Curiosity took over her as she headed to the door rolling out steam. She was almost touching the handle when the door itself swung open and what came out was not an egg. The man that came out was not much taller than her but still had at least a few inches on her. He was built much heavier than her on the other hand with enough muscle to take out the average man. His eyes are what caught her up through the deep brown eyes, gold flakes swimming around them. Time had seemed to stop for just a moment as she looked into those eyes. When he took a step forward reaching forward she came crashing back into reality. She stumbled backward turning towards the exit fully planning on running from whatever just happened. His hand met her arm as he pulled her towards him at a quick pace that almost had them both falling. They were met chest to chest and when the sparks shot through his chest up her arms they both felt at peace.

"Who are you" he mumbled out feeling the thrill go through him.

"This wasn't supposed to happen" she nearly yelled out frantically trying to pull from his grasp.

Heartbreak is all she saw in his beautiful eyes and she stopped everything for that reason. "I'm am your soulmate aren't I" she whispered afraid of her voice.
