"Here Jane put this on." Carlos handed her a hoodie.
"Why?" Jane asked taking it.
"Because it's better. So just put it on." Carlos replied.
"Carlos do you think we'll find anyone?" Jane asked putting on the hoodie.
"I hope so." Carlos answered and wrapped an arm around her. "But it's okay. We have each other."
"We should find food, weapons, and a place to stay." Jane told him.
"Yeah." Carlos agreed. "Come on." He pulled her hand and started running.
They reached a village and Carlos checked the first house.
"Here we can stay here." Carlos told Jane letting her go in. "We'll stay here for the night. Then in the morning keep going."
A few hours later Carlos and Jane were getting ready to go to bed. In the morning while Jane was still asleep Carlos went out to look for supplies.
He walked up to a house and went inside. He started filling his bag with food, then he heard something outside.
"Jane? Jane is that you?" He walked out and the zombie came around the corner.
Carlos ran back in the house and the zombie ran in after him. He pushed the zombie into the bathroom and ran out and slammed the front door shut.
After that Jane came running out. "Hey is everything okay?"
Carlos turned around breathing heavily. "Get your things. We're leaving."
"What happened?" Jane asked still standing there.
"Jane! Now!" Carlos yelled and she quickly ran in and got her things.
"We're not staying there?" Jane asked running with Carlos.
"No. We can't it's not safe. We need to find somewhere else." Carlos answered.
They were walking for a while, then heard something in the woods.
"Hold on." Carlos stopped Jane and listened.
As they were listening someone walked out of the woods.
"Mom?!" Carlos asked surprised.
"Oh my baby!" Cruella said and ran over to Carlos. "There you are my baby is dirty. Can you clean my baby?"
"Seriously?!" Jane asked annoyed.
"Jane!" Carlos whispered for her to stop.
"What? She's your mother. She shouldn't be treating you like this." Jane said.
"I know, but she always has treated me like this." Carlos told her.
"Carlos does this look bad?" Cruella asked rolling her sleeve up.
"Oh my!" Jane said looking at it.
"What?! Is it bad?!"Cruella asked looking worried at her.
"Mom I think that's a bite." Carlos told her.
"Yeah I know what it is! But what's going to happen?!" She asked.
"I'm sorry Mom." Carlos said. "Jane go." Carlos pushed Jane to walk.
"Carlos! Come back!" Curella yelled as Carlos and Jane started running.
"She's been biten!" Jane yelled as they ran.
"I know. That's why we had to leave." Carlos stated while running.
A few more hours passed and they were still walking.
"Can we stop?" Jane stopped walking and leaned over.
"Hey you okay?" Carlos ran over to her.
"I need a break. I can't keep walking. I'm sorry Carlos. You keep going." Jane told him.
"No. No I'm not leaving you here." Carlos said to her.
"Then what are we going to do?" Jane sat down on a rock.
"We'll wait it out here for a bit. Then when you're good enough. We'll keep going. Sound good?" Carlos explained.
"Yeah. Sound good." Jane agreed.
"Good. Let me when your good then." Carlos sat on the ground in front of her.
A couple minutes later and stood up.
"Okay I'm good." Jane told him.
"Are you sure. It's okay if you're not. I mean we did kind of woke up early." Carlos said.
"I know, but I figured we should find somewhere before it gets dark." Jane was saying.
"Alright if you say so." Carlos also stood up and put his bag back on. "Let's go." Carlos held out his hand for her.
Jane put her bag on too. And took Carlos hand. "Yes. Let's go." Jane smiled.
After a few more hours of walking passed they could see a cottage in the distance.
"Carlos is that a cottage?" Jane pointed out.
"Over there?" Carlos pointed through the woods.
"Yeah." Jane quickly nodded.
"You want to go? There might be people there." Carlos said.
"What if they're our friends? Or someone we can trust?" Jane also said.
"I mean if you really want to go. We can try." Carlos replied.
They started walking again still holding hands and made their way to the cottage.
"Okay you stay here. I'm gonna check it out." Carlos told her.
He walked up to the door and tried opening it, but it wouldn't open.
"Jane do you have a hair clip or something to use to open the door?" Carlos turned to her asking.
"No. Why?" Jane walked up the stairs to him.
"Because the door is locked. Someone might be living in here. They could be in there right now." Carlos.
"Here try this." Jane picked up a pointy long stick. Jane broke part of it and gave it to Carlos.
Carlos put it in the lock and tried opening it, but it still wouldn't open.
While they were trying to unlock it they heard footsteps approaching.
"Stay quiet and still." Carlos quietly whispered to her.
"Hey!" They heard someone yell. "Turn around!"
"Please we don't want any trouble." Carlos told them as him and Jane turned around.
When they both turned around they both put their hoods down. Then they saw Evie and Ben standing there. Ben was holding up a bow and arrow.
"Carlos! Jane!" Evie yelled and ran past Ben to hug them.
Carlos looked over and saw Ben put his arrow back and his bow down and walked over to them. Carlos pulled Ben into the hug. Then the four of them were all hugging
