At the edge of the dragon village, the whole population of Wilmslow was gathered. The King strode on into the village with Patrick and Mr Parsons hurrying behind him. The dragons all turned to see what was happening, but none attacked. The King stood and looked at them. They stood and looked at him. A dragon child stepped forward and offered him a small, odd-looking, purple fruit and gave him an encouraging smile.

"Gah! Look! He is trying to poison me!" cried the King.

"No, he isn't," replied Patrick, "that is a dragon fruit. They are perfectly edible to humans."

The King looked defeated. "Alright. I suppose they aren't evil after all. Do you dragons have a leader? I would like to propose an alliance."

And so, the humans and dragons formed an alliance, and learned to live side-by-side with each other. The dragons were so grateful to Sir Patrick the knight and Mr Parsons the lizard wizard that they created a statue for them in their town square so that they would always be remembered as the pair who ended the war between dragons and humans, and created peace for both parties.
