I wake up from my nap, which apparently was way longer than I wanted it to be and got to the bathroom to take off my makeup from the day and wash my hands and face. Once I'm finished with that I head downstairs to make myself something to eat, assuming that I must've missed dinner.

Just as I'm on the last step I hear a car pull in and notice that no one is home. My mom and younger brother step through the front door. She sees me and says, "Glad you could finally be bothered to wake up and spend time with your family. We went to the diner just down the street and I brought you your favorite mac and cheese. I was going to wake you before we left but you looked tired so I just ordered it to go."

"Thanks, Mom." I give her a smile and a light hug as she places their leftovers and my dinner on the counter. The mac and cheese from The Cove is actually so amazing and I've been craving it for the last week, so I'm thankful that my mom thought of me while they were out tonight.

"Is Dad working late tonight?" I ask at the same time as she says, "Your father is working late tonight."

We both laugh at that but her face says something different. I know she doesn't like when my dad works late all the time. I don't either. I understand that he wants to make extra money so that we can do things as a family, but when it comes to actually doing those fun things, a lot of the times he can't actually join us because he has to work. Sometimes I get the feeling that him and Mom are drifting apart as of recently but she always reassures me that they still love each other very much.

I put those thoughts to rest and bring my food up to my room with me so I can eat while I watch TV. I pick up my phone to see if I've had any missed calls or notifications while I was asleep. I have one missed call from Molly and two texts from Zach and Raia. All three of them were wondering where I was and then it hit me. I was supposed to meet them to go roller skating at four o'clock but I totally slept through it!

I try to call Molly back to apologize but I get sent to voicemail. I call Zach and he picks up on the third ring with a slightly annoyed, "Hello?"

"Zach, I'm so sorry I forgot about roller skating today, I'm such an idiot! I just got home today and wasn't feeling great so I decided to take a half hour nap and now we see where that got me. I'm so sor-."

Zach cuts me off by saying, "Hey, hey, it's really no big deal. It happens sometimes, no one is mad at you or blaming you. It would've been more fun with you here, but we can be understanding if you're not feeling well."

He's too nice sometimes, although I know that they're at least a little mad. I know they'll get over it, though. I frown and mumble a quick, "thanks," and say, "I'm still sorry, I was looking forward to it all day, too."

After I apologize again we say our goodbyes and hang up. I'm glad Molly didn't pick up and I called Zach instead. She would've been making rude comments, that she thinks are funny, as to why I couldn't go tonight. Zach was so sweet about it and he made me feel better about the whole thing.

I plug my phone in to charge and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get into more comfortable clothes to go to sleep. I figure since I'm not feeling so great I'll just go to sleep early and hopefully I'll feel okay for school in the morning. After I change I go downstairs quick and say goodnight to my mom and brother who are watching TV together, then rush back up and climb into my cool sheets. Once my head hits the pillow I'm out cold.
