If you were to look back in the previous chapter, you would recall me mentioning that I should learn not to complain from this situation since it weighed nothing compared to Dororo and Hyakkimaru's predicament. I'm not saying to go back a chapter though. I'm merely testing your comprehension skills.

On the other hand, if you looked back to the first chapter of this story, you would read that I had mentioned that I'm a hypocrite. If I were to be honest, I'll say that it is currently applicable to my situation.

"Dororo!"

Running away from a certain bunch of fairly-sized demons, I started whining, afraid I would lose my dear life due to these demonic atrocities. Looking back, I saw that most of these freaking monsters decided to torment me by chasing me around. Heck, none of them are taking notice of Dororo and Hyakkimaru!

It was easy to claim that this world definitely likes fucking with me.

"Calm down, Onee-san!" Dororo shouted, standing beside Hyakkimaru who didn't even bother to kill off these creatures. And instead of just standing there, they could help me with these monsters.

"How am I supposed to calm down when I'm being chased by demons!" I cried out, running blindly around with no direction in mind besides where those beings are.

"Demons?" A confused tone laced Dororo's voice as she said so, before bursting into a huge fit of laughter. I felt cheesed off by her reaction and confused at the same time, but was more on infuriated that she decided to make fun of my suffering.

"Instead of laughing at me, why don't you just kill of those demons!" I exclaimed, ticked off by their apathetic reaction to my current dilemma. "And you, Hyakkimaru! Put those sword-arms of yours for good use, will you."

"Did you hit your head or something, Onee-san?" Dororo's loud cackles have calmed down to a series of small chuckles, her hand wiping a tear from her eye from too much laughter. I found her comment extremely insulting honestly. "Aniki doesn't need to kill anything. You're not being chased by demons."

"What?" Like a clumsy airhead, I didn't realize the rock sticking out just in front of me while I was in the process of running, resulting to my inelegant trip to the hard ground. As you can see, I am what you would call a klutz. "Ow."

Have I ever mentioned that I do fine with every academic subjects besides physical education?

"You look like an idiot." Dororo bluntly remarked, likely to be making fun of my helpless form inside her mind. "You were being chased by racoons, you know –not demons. If you had stayed still, they wouldn't have chased you –look."

Slowly lifting myself up from my ground, I took a glance at the direction she was pointing. Like what she had said, I saw brown racoons that were now retreating away from us. I can help but let out a groan at my own foolishness, dropping back down to the ground.

"Get up, Onee-san. We have to get going. It's already dark out, you know." Dororo stated, giving my side a gentle kick as I remained lying on the dirty ground.

"Why don't we take a break here first?" I grumbled, tired to get up from all the useless running I have been doing not too long ago. I did fail PE, Phys Ed, and Physical Education for a reason. "I'm tired."

"It's dangerous." Hearing the deep male voice coming from Hyakkimaru, I turned my head to face him, giving the raven head a null stare, finding his answer too vague for my understanding.

"What Aniki means is that we can't just take a rest in the forest since it's crawling with wild animals." Dororo explained, now grabbing my arm as she slowly started to drag me. "Let's hurry up and find a place where we can rest already."
