Today Melissa and Lucinda had nothing planned. So as Lucinda lay on the couch on her stomach, looking through some SnoopChat stories, Melissa was in the kitchen attempting to cook. That wasn't working out for her though. So she opened the pantry to just grab some random snack. The first thing she spotted were dog treats, but she wasn't going to eat those.
Instead of just gobbling up the whole bag of dog treats, she grabbed a granola bar and went on with her day. Then. A random idea that came from the image of dog treats was conjured up in her head.
"LUCI!!" She rushed to the living room, almost flipping her granola bar behind her. Lucinda looked up from her phone, seeing her lovely girlfriend jump up and down excitedly. "Hmm?" "Okay, so," Melissa started then tried to catch her breath, also taking a bite of her granola bar. "I just had the greatest idea of all time. Guess what it is," she finished, then took one last bite, throwing the wrapper in the trash. Then she turned back to Lucinda.
"That we should sleep?"
"Nope."
"That we should make fanfiction about the two of us?"
"Nope. There's already fanfics about us anyways."
"That I should teach you how to cook?"
"Nope."
"That we should have sex again?"
"Nope. Those were all good ideas," Melissa mentioned, then she whispered in Luci's ear, "especially the last one," which made Lucinda blushed a deep red colour, "but here's my actual idea."
She vaulted over the couch, plopping right next to Lucinda. "I propose that we," she made a little swoosh with her finger, like it was a king's scepter, "should get a pet." Lucinda nodded in agreement. "But not just any pet." Melissa looked at Lucinda with a hopeful look. She was hoping that Lucinda could finish her thought. "You want us to get a dog." "Yea!"
"I was hoping we could get a cat. But, sure!"
"Okay, sorry, I just really need a dog. Now let's go! You're driving." Lucinda laughed softly and followed her girlfriend to the car.

"Oh. My. Dog. There are so many cute puppies," Melissa ran to puppy and her eye glistened, "-and big dogs," then she ran to a huge Great Dane. "Which one to choose?" She walked back over to Lucinda who was standing next to a cage of grown maltese dogs.
"Which one do you want?" Melissa asks Lucinda.
"I really want an Australian Shepherd. And a puppy."
"Oooh, okay." Melissa walked over to a woman who looked like she was working there, at the adoption center. "Hey," she started, catching the woman's attention, she raised her eyebrows in concern, "Do you have any Australian Shepherds?" Melissa asks the lady. "Oh! Yes, we do. Right this way." Melissa turns back at Lucinda and motions for her to follow them. She comes over and they both follow the lady.
They turn the corner and see each cage of dogs is a different breed. The woman led them to the family of Australian Shepherds. They lived in a cage, left side, second from last. It looked as if there were only grown ones, no puppies. But in the back, hiding from the world, were two Shepherd pups.
The smaller puppy was doing laps around the food and water bowl that was placed there. The other significantly bigger puppy was sleeping on its back with its paws dangling in the air.
"Aww, which one to choose?" Melissa asks, holding up the two puppies and comparing them.
"I vote the sleeping one."
"But the other one's so cute! And it'd very energised, like me!" Melissa exclaimed. "Ooh, wait, can we get both?" Lucinda looked at her girlfriend with an unamused expression on her face. "Okay, fine." Melissa said, dissapointed. "We'll get..."
"The sleeping one." Melissa finally stated. "Thank you."

"Thank you for adopting!"
Melissa and Lucinda finally headed back home after a day of dog-adopting. In the end, they did decided to get the one that was sleeping. And still, now that they were in the car, it was sleeping. Melissa smiled lovingly down at their new puppy and Lucinda just sighed, thinking, "What the actual hell am I going to do with this girl?"
And apparently, she wasn't just thinking that, because just seconds after she heard, "I'm sorry babe, I just really wanted a dog. I'm also surprised at the fact that you can actually handle me."
