"The baby pink dress or the golden one?"
Shikamaru sighed for the umpteenth time as he rubbed the bridge of his nose, side-eyeing Sai and Naruto for help.
"The golden one, Temari-San. Sakura could wear the red dress, it would compliment her very well." Sai's eloquent way of speaking had Sakura faintly blushing and Temari nodding with determination.
"Uhm.. and what am I supposed to wear?!" I crossed my arms with a scowl, eyes skimming through all the dresses laid out in front of me yet not being able to pick a single one.
"[Name], I've told you! Wear the maroo-"
"It's backless!" I wrapped my arms around myself with a childish pout, squirming in place to make them feel bad for having me wear something so revealing. It was beautiful, though. A dark burgundy, velvet wrap dress- it was tight fitting, and also backless.
After minutes of Sakura and Temari persuading me to wear this oh-so-exposing dress with the boys chiming in as to how it'll attract any guy at the party; I slowly but surely agreed to put it on.
Minutes passed to hours, and we were all enjoying the night. Our [rich] best friend, Gaara, and also Temari's younger brother had thrown a party to celebrate him being promoted to the youngest CEO of his dad's company.
"[Name], Sakura! Quit chit-chatting, come over for the toast!" Temari motioned us towards the forming crown, as we both hurried over. She handed us our glasses of fizzing champagne as a tuff of red hair caught our attention.
It was Gaara, CEO Gaara, Kankuro and Rasa. Temari have moved to their side as the sand siblings gave their little inspirational speech, followed by Gaara and Rasa adding some words as well.
Everybody soon rose their glasses, clinking it together. "Cheers to my brother and his bright future ahead!"

"You guys aren't coming?"
"No, I uhm.. Shikamaru and I are staying here. What about Sakura? She isn't going with you and Sai?" Temari questioned me.
"No. She and Naruto are heading to a club for an after party with Sasuke and Sai. It's alright, I'll just call a cab." I smiled softly and waved the fact off that all my friends had decided to be engaged in other activities with their 'friends' and I was the only sober one to be wanting nothing more than crashing in my bed and sleeping.
"You sure? Me and Shika can-"
"It's fine! Look, already done~" I chimed happily and held my phone screen up to show her that I had already booked a cab and it'd be arriving in a few.
Temari sighed with a chuckle. "Quick as always, [Name]. If anything happens, you got me on speed dial, 'Kay? Call when you get home.." She started rambling off as her elder sister instincts took over.
"I will, don't worry." I leaned forward to squish my best friend in a tight hug, patting her back as if to reassure her I'll be fine.
My phone dinged and I glanced to check the notification; the taxi had arrived.
Waving my friends off, I hurried outside. A chill running up my spine as the cold air hit my bare skin.
I should've gotten a jacket, atleast."Good evening." The cab driver greeted politely with a smile as I had gotten in the backseat, somewhat grateful that it was warmer in the car. Upon giving the driver my address, he nodded curtly and started the engine, driving off.
I leaned towards the window with my chin resting on my palm, staring outside at all the passing buildings and cars- my eyes starting to fall heavy.
I glanced at the time; a little past 10. Then looked over to the driver who was taking a gulp of water.
Atleast I'll make it home in time to sleep..
