I kind morphed the idea just a lil but I still think you'll enjoy it.

Ms. Joke was cackling. Bent over, tears streaming down her face, barely able to breathe, cackling.

"I can't, I can't believe it! I can-not believe it!" She said between bouts of laughter.

Aizawa just stood there patiently. He knew this would be the type of reaction he would get, he had prepared himself.

"Are you going to answer the question?" He asked evenly, trying his best to not grit his teeth. It took him everything in himself not to walk away in that moment.

It took a whole minute more before she could calm herself enough to speak.

"Ask it again." She stated, smile playing behind her lips. Aizawa sighed, rubbing his temples.

"I just asked you. So please, save me the embarrassment and just answer the question." He mumbled. Suddenly, in a rather theatrical manner, she yawned, accompanying it with a rather zealous stretching routine.

"Man, I'm feeling tired. I don't think I can stay up much longer." She said, barely managing to contain a giggle being her words. Aizawa groaned, shuffling his feet in front of her.

"Fine." He grumbled. Then a deep breath.

"May I, please, ask your sister for her hand in marriage." He said slowly, straining to keep his voice as even as he could. For a moment it dawned on him. This was happening, it was really happening. He felt his cheeks heat up and an unsettling feeling found itself into his stomach.

Ms. Joke stood there in her spot, and for the first time in a long time Aizawa was met with one of her genuine smiles, one of the ones that wasn't brought on by the effect of her quirk.

She hopped down onto the patio from the stoop of her door, and suddenly Aizawa was engulfed in a giant hug. It left him breathless and he had to fight the urge to struggle when he was lifted into the air.

When he was set on the ground, he was pushed away, Ms. Jokes' hands on his shoulders. The look in her eyes was mischievous and though he stood a few inches taller he felt very, very small.

"Why?" She asked, eyes squinting for just a moment.

"Because I love her."

The rapid answer even surprised him. It was natural, and he knew that he meant it with every fiber of his being. He watched Ms. Joke smile even wider, and he saw a glimmer of a tear.

"You know you didn't have to ask me. I know how much she loves you, Aizawa." She said happily.

"You may know that, but I know how much you mean to her, Joke." Aizawa said.

Joke's hand let go of Aizawa's shoulders, eyes tearing up.

"My little sister's really growing up." She stated, hands wiping away forming tears before they fell. She then started to laugh. A light, airy laugh.

"You have my permission, one hundred percent."

It was with a shove, after she requested to see the ring, that he was sent down the steps towards the gate.

"You got this, Aizawa!" She called. "Don't freeze up!"

Aizawa shook his head, burying his hands into his pockets, gripping the small velvet box nervously.

When he got outside gate, she called him again.

"Aizawa!"

He turned, and she had a giant, beaming smile.

"Welcome to the family!"

With a wink, and a wave, she was back in her house.

Aizawa found himself on the sidewalk. It was all beginning to sink in now. Everything was beginning to become more and more real. He was going to marry the woman he loved. He was going to go to dinner, take her out, and say the words that would change his and her life forever.

As he walked in the direction of the restaurant he was having dinner at, he swore that Ms. Joke's quirk was still in effect, because there was nothing he could do to keep the small, almost unnoticeable smile off his face.
