5: "We shouldnt have met."
11: "You're too good for me."-
Blue.
Funny how such an insignificant four letter word can turn your world upside down.
Eraserhead has mentioned it barely in the passing of a conversation. You had asked about the whole training camp fiasco as you took a route with him. Everything was beginning to settle down, and it seemed like the right time.
"The fire was blue, which made it hotter than normal."
Blue. In the moment, you paid no mind to it, but as you headed home, it was the last straw on an already overfilled damn.
You had stopped on the middle of the sidewalk, other disgruntled travelers grumbling. It made so much sense now. The late nights, the scarcity, his distance. There was no other person that could've been at that camp, and as much as you wanted to deny the facts, you knew deep down it was true.
Oh how stupid you were.
When you entered the house, you were hyperaware of his presence on the couch, feet kicked up as he flipped through the channels.
"I was wondering when you were going to get back. This house is boring when you're not in it."
Off handed comments like that, ones backed by the sincerity of his voice would've made your heart swell, but now it made you cringe.
A clatter resounded throughout the apartment. Upon going through the movements of taking of your coat, you knocked down the shoe rack, both his and your shoes crashing to the ground.
"You alright?"
He was closer now, and you gripped your knuckles tightly.
"Was it you, Dabi?"
The silence was deafening, and the atmosphere changed. You had gotten your answer.
"Was wh-"
"At the training camp. Was? It? You?" You growled. The vice was evident now. You were angry, angry at his lies, angry that you had let yourself fall into such a trap.
"Yes."
It was deafening, and you ears began to ring, tuning out the TV, his breathing, the soft sound of the rain outside.
"Get out." You murmured. Upon his lack of movement, you turned to face him in all his glory.
"Get the hell out!" You yelled, voice betraying you. You eyes began to prick at the implications of everything. You were never going to see him again. You couldn't. You were a hero. He was a villain. Apart of the on of the most notorious villain group in present time.
He moved slowly, making his way towards you. How you wanted to pull away as his hand grasped your. Yet the familiarity was comforting.
"You kidnapped an innocent child, Dabi. You ruined lives with that Nomu attack."
"It's not like that." He said sternly. You scoffed, and in anger pushed him away.
"Then what is it like Dabi?! Because all I can see is a villain and a liar! And look where that got you. Ruining-ruining everything!"
You had to gulp back a sob. Someone you had come to care so much about was betraying you. You wanted escape the tightening pain in your chest.
His face was vacant, emotions only distinguishable by the slight gleam in his eyes.
"I don't know what I was thinking." He said absently. "You're too good for me."
Another sob wracked your throat, and you stepped aside so he could leave.
"Please, please go." You cried, almost indecipherable.
"We should have never met, Dabi."
