It had been about a week since someone had come to their house. Now, Azriel was sitting on the couch as his mother yelled at him. He hung his head low, she had found out about his dyed hair and that he had been cutting class. New marks had formed on his skin since then.
A crimson liquid ran down the pale skin of the male's leg, as if it were a stray drop of water trying to find it's way back to the river. He had cut a bit deeper than he usually did and the bleeding wouldn't stop. It continued to run down, reaching his ankle and soaking into his sock which caused him to frown a bit. He grabbed a Kleenex and held it to his new wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. It just continued to bleed, this was worse than it usually was. He tried applying a bit of pressure but it did very little to help him. The white soon became red, as if it was greeting the new color that it was absorbing.
"What am I suppose to do? I give you a house and everything and you can't even bother to go to class?" Her brows were furrowed as she glared at her son, Fay ran into the living room eyes wide. She had never heard her mother yell since Azriel always hid her from it.
The sound of the piano being played filled the room. Most of the notes were incorrect and it sounded horrible overall. A boy with blonde hair shook his head and chuckled. The girl that sat beside him grabbed his hands.
"Stop playing already! It's terrible!" She said, doing her best to hold back her laughter.
"M-mom?" Fay stuttered, eyes watering. Their mother turned around and glared at her daughter before pointing at her.
This was another time with the religious girl that had been helping him learn to play the piano. His hair was much longer compared to the first time that the two had met. The girl's light brown hair was in two dutch braids that went back into two pony-tails. Her brown eyes were a contrast to the blue eyes of the male that she sat beside.
"I would like to tell you something.." The girl said quietly, fiddling with her fingers.
"You go back up stairs! Can you not see I'm talking to your brother?" Fay broke into tears and turned around, running toward the stairs.
"How could you! You are a disgrace to God! You will burn in hell for your crimes!" A sharp pain was felt in the male's cheek as the one he thought of as a friend slapped him. Hatred burned in her chocolate brown eyes as she glared at the male in front of her.
"How did I even speak to you?" His other cheek started to hurt when she hit him again. He stood silent, allowing for her to yell at him. His bangs covered his eyes as he simply stared down at his feet.
"You do not yell at her!" Azriel screamed at his mother, standing up quickly. Teal hair was flung across his face as he glared. "She hasn't done anything and doesn't deserve to-" His sentence was cut off as he felt a stinging on his cheek.
"Say something you idiot! Say something!" The girl demanded as she continued to glare at the male that she had once considered her friend and a trust worthy person.
"How dare you talk back to me!" The woman yelled as her son carefully lifted a hand to his reddening cheek. She slapped me! That woman slapped me! Azriel let out a low growl a strange picture forming in his mind that wasn't something of his memory as the past images in his mind had been.
Greens and brows passed by in a blur, the stars gleaming over head. The quiet sound of leaves crunching underfoot, the smell of the forest where there had recently been rain. Four powerful legs propelling him forward as he ducked under the low branches of some trees and darted through the bushes. A howl sounded from behind him and he stopped in his tracks.
