"I got an idea
And I know it sounds crazy
I just wanna see ya
Oh, I gotta ask."
Noah's POV
Surely she's home. Since her mum's probably at work, and her car isn't in the driveway. I'm standing outside the Nolets' front door, waiting for Richelle to answer the door. I ring the doorbell again, but I don't think she'll come and see me anyway. Not that she knows that I'm at her front door right now. If she's really in there, I'm going to see for myself.
I think around three years ago, we used to visit each other a lot. I've been in her house often enough, and I still remember where her room was. That's where I'm heading to. I walk away from the front door and go along the left side of her house. There's a gap between the fence and the house, wide enough for a person to go through.
The first window to my right isn't her room, but I can see nothing much has changed in their lounge room. Their family portrait is quite old. Her dad was there in that photo when Abbey was only a baby, and Richelle, a toddler. It's fascinating how many things change within a lifetime. You lose things, but you still gain things along the way.
Well, next window I go.
I walk towards the second window. There she is. Richelle is in her pyjamas, lying down on her bed holding something up in her hands. I squint at the sight before me to see what she's got.
Is that green string I see? Hold up, can I spot that shark charm there?
I let out an audible gasp. Luckily, Richelle didn't hear me. I haven't seen that bracelet in a while. Nor have I been wearing the one she made for me. It's been far too long.
The reason why I chose a shark charm is because Richelle's a fierce and bold dancer. I could see that she was always confident with herself. Her attitude is fierce, and that makes her seem quite intimidating. I don't see much of her nowadays, but the dance season has already started and I'm sure she'll be coming back to the studio soon.
As they say, nothing gold can stay. The past we shared is long gone. Now we don't even talk anymore. I want to fix things with Richelle. If only she listens to what I've got to say. Richelle still is too absorbed in her bracelet, so I'm going to get her attention. Hopefully this will work out.
First, I gently tap on her window. Richelle freezes, trying to detect the source of the sound. After a minute, she stops listening out for the source of the sound. I sigh. Well, I gotta knock a little harder then. Here goes nothing.
Knock, knock, knock.
This time, Richelle places her bracelet down on her bed and slowly turns her head towards the window. Her eyes meet mine. Recognition dawns in her eyes, yet she doesn't move. I keep my eyes on hers, reading her emotions. Uncertainty? Fear? Sadness?
It's a little difficult to tell, but -
Richelle hurriedly gets up from her bed. She edges closer and closer to the window. Is she going to talk to me? Her hand finds the side of the window and she tugs on something. Richelle mouths 'sorry' at me. Then, I realise what's happening. The blinds roll down, blocking my sight of Richelle. I thought that I truly had a chance to talk, but I see how it is.
As I head away from the Nolets' front yard, I search my mind for another idea. Although Richelle wants to avoid me, it won't last forever. I'm not going to let this stop me. There must be another way to communicate with her.
I think I've got an idea.
~half an hour later ~
Richelle's POV
I sit back down on my bed, still trying to catch my breath.
That was a close call. I was holding his bracelet in my hands and he was watching me that whole time?! Well, who knows what's up with that guy? I honestly wonder what Jacquie sees in him. Noah seems desperate to speak to me, but after what just happened, I doubt we'll be speaking any time soon. That was straight out creepy.
Thinking about this, I feel a pang of regret. I could've talked to him, because lately, I haven't really talked to anyone outside of my family other than Lola. Now, she's gone to do something different and hopefully we'll see each other again.
I think I should check whether Noah's really gone. So I head out of my bedroom and walk down the hallway to the front door. Immediately, I peep through the small windows at the top of the door.
Nope.
No sign of him or his car. Phew. I turn away from the door and something catches my eye. There's something on the floor. I go back and pick it up. A folded sheet of paper. How strange. The paper is trembling in my hands as I unfold it.
Oh. Who knew this would happen?
A/N: Hope you all enjoyed this chapter! There's big things coming up in the next couple of chapters, and I hope you'll keep following along with my updates. Although this fanfic originally begun (back in chapter one, not the prologue) in between season 5 & 6 of tns, I've decided to move onwards in time. That means that as of this chapter I've already reached the beginning of season 6. I'll keep many of the original events that happened, but I won't mention all of them. There'll also be a couple of changes because I keep it from Noah & Richelle's POVs.
