"I stop, ask myself: 'What can I do?'...

Go on, tell me now, what can I do?"

Noah's POV

As I drive along the city roads, I can't help but think of what happened today. I was so close to calling Jacquie Richelle.

Oh my god.

How did that slip out?

Well, after I visited Richelle in the hospital, I think she's still hiding something from me. I know that we rarely hang out together now, but sometimes I wish I could have her by my side again. We've known each other for five years, but things can change.

Beep!

The sound of a honking car breaks my thoughts. Shoot. I press down on the accelerator and begin moving forward. I turn off the main road and onto a smaller street. The realisation hits me. I'm driving down Richelle's street, so I must be near my house.

Richelle and I are only separated by two streets and we used to go over to each other's houses a lot. I smile, lost in thought. Before I know it, I pull up in front of her house and park there. When I stop, I lay back and think to myself.

Should I? Or should I not?

Richelle's POV

I heard a car pull up nearby. Strange. I thought my mum wasn't going to come home until five. Or maybe it's the neighbours. I lay stretched out on my bed, reading the new novel that I had gotten a few days ago. Something I do to get my mind off things. Except this time, reading didn't seem to have that effect on me. I usually sink into the story, until someone, like my mum or sister, interrupts me. With a frustrated sigh, I place my book down on the bedside table.

I lay there, staring up at the ceiling and thinking. After my final physio session today, I just want to chill. I'm happy that the doctor's letting me go back to dance next week. At the same time, I don't know what to expect when I get to the studio. I heave myself up from bed and walk over to my table. There are photos of my friends hanging on my wall right above my desk. Having my photo wall there reminds me of the good times. As I run my hand along the wall, I stop at a picture that I can't take my eyes away from.

This photo was taken when Noah and I were at a party together a couple of years ago

This photo was taken when Noah and I were at a party together a couple of years ago. Woah, we've both changed so much since then. To be honest, I shouldn't have dyed my hair brown, but I can't blame the little me for that.

Wait a second.

I spot something subtle in the photo. The bracelets that we made for each other. He made a simple one for me: a green string bracelet with a shark charm. We were wearing it then, but ever since The Next Step won Internationals, I stopped wearing it. Things had changed between us. He made A-Troupe that year and I didn't. He found someone to love, and I was left behind. Although we did see each other around in the studio, we didn't hang out as often as we used to.

All of this reminds me of what happened with Noah not long ago at the hospital. He was there. Trying to talk to me, but I chose to push away. I guess I still haven't forgiven him yet. Although I'd already apologised, I still felt differently in my mind. I wasn't being truly sincere then, but now I know it doesn't hurt to make things right.

Should I talk to him? After all, he tried to speak with me a few days ago. Maybe things will change this time. We could clear the air about everything that kept us apart for so long. I open my desk drawer and reach to the back of it. My box was still there: the one I keep my special items in. Once I pull it out, I lift the lid off of the box and take my bracelet out.

Ding dong!

I jump to my feet and my bracelet falls out of my hands in the process. Who could it be at the door? I doubt it'd be Abbey or my mum because they know how to get inside the house. With a quick swipe, I grab my bracelet off the carpet, and I lie down on my bed: still holding the bracelet that Noah made for me.

Whoever it is, they can wait. I'm not bothered to get up to answer the door.

A/N: This chapter is shorter than usual, but I wanted to update this book since it's been a week since I last updated it. However, I guarantee next chapter will have more than this.

Bryles are so cute though😍❤
