Lucine's eyes could not adjust properly to the darkness of the room while sunlight poured from the open hatch above.  The room's scent was deeply unpleasant, however, she could not hear any of the dead inside. "The smell must be leaking up from the first floor. The loans office." Lucine said speaking quietly as the twins stood close to her.

"With any luck, we won't have to go down there, we exit out the front door up here and battle our way down the front steps," Lucine said. "Right, let's hurry tho, this place...give me the crawlies, ya know?" Jeff said.

The three of them moved slowly through the racks of shoes, silent in the darkness. Lucine's eyes adjusted more the further they got from the sunlight and soon she could spot the door.

Her hands wrapped around the handle, giving it a flick and a shove, it did not move. "Maybe you pull it," Jess suggested. Lucine gave a tug, nothing - still stuck.

Just outside the door, she could hear faint howls coming from many directions. "The others are here." Jess cheered quietly, she had well learned her lesson. Jeff looked up at the door "doesn't do us any good if we're still stuck." He muttered.

Lucine looked up at the door and rammed her shoulder into it,  Jeff joined her, but the noise they were creating made the undead below them stir. And the gurgling sounded off from within the building.

"I don't understand, it's not locked..." Lucine said softly examining the door. She looked to Jeff and Jess and the three started to tug at the door, but it didn't budge.

A pitched growl came from the very back of the shoe store, Lucine looked to see the ladies' room door lightly moving as something bumped against it. "I'll go get it, can't be more than one." Jeff offered. Lucine snatched the sleeve of his jacket and drug him back "no, we won't mess with it unless it gets out." She said.

Owen hopped down from his tree as some of the other wolves lured the undead away. Using his knife he eliminated the remaining few and set his sites on the store. Maybe five walkers surrounded the bottom floor. He could get to the upper door without much trouble.

That is...

Owen's eyes were glued to the door, which looked to be welded shut. He frowned and made a run for the front stair.

Inside the shoe store Lucine felt her pulse quicken, she walked to the large window next to the door, a dazed stare on her face as she looked at the bars.

"L-Lucine!" Jess yelped quickly drawing her knife, Lucine whirled around as the two bathroom doors came crashing down, right off the hinges. Her dark eyes grew large as she ran to stand before the twins.

Picking up a high heel shoe Lucine brandished it. The halflife's piled out of both bathrooms, with those horrible sounds.

Owen looked up at the window he grasped the bars and tugged them, they rattled a bit, rusted from the old blood that soaked them. Looking through the dirty window he could see the undead heading for Jess, Jeff, and Lucine. He pulled at the bars more, whistling from between his teeth Owen called to his pack.
