Jack's P.O.V.

We all rushed around the world, collecting teeth and... Forgetting to leave gifts, and ending up having to go back again. The last stop of the night was Jaime's house. There, things got a little hectic. We woke up the sleeping Jaime, sicced a dog on Bunny, and put all of the other Guardians to sleep except for Sandy and me.

Then, somehow, things got worse. A beam of black light burst out from a part of the town. Immediately after, a Nightmare galloped past the window, towards the light. I flew out of the bedroom window, following the creature. When I reached its destination, pure horror overcame me. The place was swarming with Nightmares, some fleeing from the scene, others flooding in from outside. A small black bag was sitting on the shore, the beam of light emitting from the small opening. I rushed over to close it. Once I did, the light shut off.

My ears caught a small shriek of fear. I turned around towards the source of the sound, looking to see a girl curled up into a ball in front of the hugest Nightmare I had ever seen. Time slowed as I watched the Nightmare barrel towards the frightened girl at what must have been breakneck speeds. In my eyes, the Nightmare appeared to move through water, but at the rate it was really going, there was no chance I would have time to fly to her. I took a chance and sent a long ranged blast of ice towards her, hoping that the ice wouldn't accidentally hit the girl as well.

It seemed that luck was on my side because I hit the Nightmare without hurting the girl as well. QUickly, I rushed over to the girl's side to make sure she was okay, even though I was pretty sure there was nothing I could do if she weren't. Once I was crouching in front of her, she flinched away from me, jumping up and away from me with her hands held out in front of her.

"S-stay back," she ordered, her voice shaking. "Or I'll make you."
I was shocked that she could see me, but I figured she couldn't do anything to me in her state, so I took another step closer.

Y/N's P.O.V.

The white-haired, blue-eyed boy took another step closer to me. I backed up, terrified of what might happen to me.

"N-no!" I stuttered out. "Stay away!"

A gust of wind created a barrier between him and me while sweeping him into a tree behind him. He stopped himself right before smacking into the trunk by controlling the wind himself and rushed towards me. I flew off as well, terrified of this strange boy full of so much power. A shadow opened up in front of me, and I dived straight into it, not sure where it would take me, but confident that the boy was no longer able to follow me.

I toppled out of the portal into a ball made of shadow-glass. I look up at the face peering through the glass and instantly scoot back. Pitch scowled at me.

"You failed, didn't you? You released the Nightmares, but someone saw you." His face looked dangerous. "I'll be taking your wind back then."

He reached a hand into the ball. I scrambled away from him, attempting to find a way through the glass like him, but failing. I curled up into a ball and stayed still waiting for his cold touch.

Then, out of nowhere, a golden rope latched onto his other wrist and pulled him away, slamming him into the street. I looked up and saw a little yellow man wielding the rope. I mouthed a thank you and then saw another person come in. The white-haired boy.

"Hey, Sandy!" He shouted at the little man. "Guess what?  I found someone new..." His voice trailed off as his eyes caught onto me. "You!"
