Air.

Brisk air.

The world was cool. It smelled like fresh berries and warm soup.

Air

Why was that so weird.

Air

Air

Air

Breathing it in.

Holding the air in my lungs and breathing it in.

Never ending breaths.

Air

Air

The word was strange, yet it was somehow in my lungs.

Air

"Good morning, young one." The voice was deep, strange. I could recognize it, but the world was still so dark and muddy. "I know you are awake. I made sure of it."

The world was still dead around me, yet completely alive. Maybe I was the dead one.

"It's time to get up, I didn't help you for no reason now. The universe is finally at peace. And so am I." This sentence rolled around in my head, bouncing in my skull.

I tried opening my eyes, but nothing worked. They stayed shut and closed off from the world. I felt like I was sinking, sinking, sinking.

Air

Air

Dropping me slowly, sinking, sinking, sinking.

Into black.

Earth

"He used the stones again." Natasha looked up from the hologram to look at Steve, who was pacing the floor.

"Hey, hey, hey. We'd be going in shorthanded." Bruce was trying to be reasonable, but Thor looked up at him with a pained look on his face.

"Look, he's still got the stones-" Rhodey started. Carol Danvers looked haunted and cut him off.

"So let's get him. And use them to bring everyone back." She said it like it is was the most simple thing in the world. Or worlds.

"Just like that?"

"Yeah, just like that," Steve spoke up, looking up from the holograms to stare Carol in the face. The two knew they were being brash, but the world was dead and gone. They needed to step up.

"Even if there is a small chance we can do this, we owe it to everyone who's not in this room to try." Nat looked around at everyone. "We all lost something, some more than others. This is the second time he has used the stones since the snap. We need to act now. We have his location." Her voice sounded desperate, like she was wandering in the sea, lost to the will of the waves.
