Where to begin...

I don't really remember how I began to fall for him, or how my life changed in a flash. It was all a blur, but as I'm sat on my pastel pink princess bed, legs crossed, cup of tea in hand, I just stare out of the window looking at the house. The house where it all began, thinking, trying to remember what made it happen.

Moving day! It was finally moving day, I had saved since I was 15 to get a place of my own. Now being 22, it was finally coming true. I was so excited, sadly I had no one to help me move. Just me and my car, but hopefully my best friend Elia would be round later!

It wasnt a big place, a sweet little house with 2 bedrooms, a small kitchen, a combined living room and dining room and a bathroom. The bedrooms were normal sized, one could fit a double bed in it and had a built in wardrobe. It was a very pale pink colour, a barely noticable tint unless you really looked. The carpet was cream and soft, I had glossy pink curtains that would match. The other bedroom had enough room for a single bed, maybe some furniture. However, I had no use for it so I'd probably make it into a hobby room. The kitchen was a natural grey and cream, it was classic and simple. Wooden cabinets and sides, with old fashioned silver handles. The living room was cosy, it fitted a sofa, a coffee table, a TV stand, a book case and a small side table. The dining room was classic pale purple, I put a small table with four seats in the centre and a cabinet on one wall. The bathroom was one of my favourite rooms, it was a beautiful baby blue like a mermaid and had a lovely bath with built in shower. The garden was about 15 metres long, in the middle led a grey cobblestone path with flower beds either side. A cherry blossom tree grew in the middle of one of the flowerbeds, it arched above the path. At the end of the path was a small area of patio, with enough space for a small table and a couple of chairs. Enough for quiet afternoons.

As I moved in, neighbours came to introduce themselves. Mixture of people, old and young. All kind, offering help. Some brought food, cake, tea. I spoke to them all about the area, my plans for life and more. Some helped move some of my stuff into the house for me, which I appreciated as it was starting to fall dark. I got about half sorted before calling it a night.

A week had passed, it was a warm June afternoon. I had met most of the neigbours on the small street I had moved onto, all but the owner of one house. Some neighbours spoke of him,  he was hardly seen, tattooed, liked rock music, worked in a tattoo studio. That's as much as I knew. His house was usually dark. But, it was well kept on the outside, never looked out of place. One neighbour came over to tell me that he wasnt like the rest of the neighbours, he wasnt all what he makes himself seem. I found this odd, yet gave it no mind.

The next day, I was getting ready for one of my jobs. I tied my pastel blue and pink hair in pigtails, tied with ribbon. I decided to wear a pastel pink crop top with a small pastel blue ds print just above the boob. I matched it with pastel blue shorts, pink and blue over the knee socks, and blue and white platform lolita shoes. This was a casual outfit for me. Most of my wardrobe was pastel colours, occasionally with the odd bit of black but rarely. I'd grown up lovely pastel colours, and as I got older I got more into the pastel goth style.

I got into my little dark navy blue mini, who I had named Sky. Due to the colour reminding me of the night sky. As I climbed into my car, I glanced at the unknown neigbours house, he was stood outside by his motorcycle.

I froze on spot. He looked so handsome. He was covered in tattoos everywhere I could see. He had black hair, falling to the side and slightly in front of his face. He had on a plain black tee, grey jeans and a leather biker jacket thrown over his shoulder. He saw me looking and smirked at me, then half nodded. I gave a small smile back before quickly getting in my car. I caught my breath and drove down the road. All the while thinking of him and his stare.

I got to work at the music store, said hi to my best friend Elia who also worked there. Her hair was purple and blue like a galaxy, her blue eyes were deep like the ocean. She had a soft, oval face. I'll admit I liked her at first, but we just became best friends.

"You alright there, A?" Elia raised an eyebrow at me.
"Yeah. Just a bit taken back I guess. I finally saw unknown neighbour" I responded, questioning myself on what I should tell her.
"You better tell me everything!" She almost screamed, although I was 10 feet away.

The rest of the day went by as usual. I told Elia about the neighbour, she made jokes of him being my next love interest. I rolled my eyes and chuckled. I then went home, not knowing the surprise waiting for me.

It took me longer to get home than usual, traffic through the town was crazy. Would have been easier to walk. I pulled into the drive and climbed out the car, not really concentrating on my surroundings. I grabbed my keys and was about to unlock the door when a voice behind me spoke.

"Not even gonna say hello?" Said a deep voice, half chuckling at me.

I jumped dropping my keys on the floor, I spun round to see the neighbour.

"I...I...I'm sorry, I didnt see you there." I stumbled over my words. His eyes were a bright blue, and sparkled in the evening sun.

"I could tell. I'm Lyra, by the way. I live at number 19." He looked me up and down. I held my breath not knowing what to do.

"Well, I'm Avalia. Nice to meet you. Would you like to come in?" I quickly added the question on the end, worried I'd sound rude.

"You seem slightly busy to me. I thought I would just introduce myself." He half smiled, still not looking away from me.

"No, it's okay. I've just been at work. You're more than welcome." I replied, probably abit too quickly.

"Well if you insist." I finally picked up my keys off the floor and unlocked the door.

I put down my bag and let him in. He sat on the sofa as I made drinks. I kept glancing into the living room, he was breathtaking like no one I had ever seen before. I think he noticed me looking and I quickly hurried back to making drinks.

When the drinks were made I sat next to him. We spoke for a while, about my work, his work, music, art, fashion, bikes, and general chit chat. I had discovered he was 29, had been a tattoo artist since he was 17. He liked metal and rock music, he could play guitar and drums. He didnt seem so mysterious anymore. He seemed kind and inviting. Something about him had me in a trance. My heart was pounding the whole time and I'm pretty sure my cheeks were on full blush.

We spoke for about 5 hours, until I realised the time. It was 11pm, luckily he had offered to order takeout earlier in the evening.

He headed for the door, before he left he turned towards me.

"One thing before I leave, don't always believe what the neighbours chat about. I'm not as bad as they make me seem." He then turned and left.

I was confused, I hadn't heard anything bad. I swept it to the back of my mind before getting ready for bed. I put on cartoons and snuggled up on my bed which was covered in fairy lights and cuddly toys.

I glanced out the window, and for once saw a light on, in the usually dark house. Maybe that was a sign that there was light within the dark.
