Seasons

They say in spring, everything blooms

The clouds of April will no longer loom

Yet one thing  that I was never told

Was how something like this would unfold

When all this started I put up my walls

I'd be damned if my leaves wilted this fall

I can't be left a like a winter tree

No fruit to give, not even a leaf

Last year I went through the seasons

Gave fruits and leaves, I had my reasons

But when the colder months came by

I was on my own under the darkening sky

He was my sun, but he was tucked away

He hid behind clouds, day after day

I thought without him, I couldn't grow

But there were many things I came to know

Of the many lessons, you were one

I learned how to life without sun

And even though I'm awfully scared

You might just be my answered prayer

You are my night sky, lit by the moon

Peaceful and quiet, yet gone too soon

I make my wish upon your starlight

To keep your never ending midnight
