Five steps to getting better:
Step 1: Distract yourself.
Even though it is temporary, it is easier to deal with everything piece by piece. Don't run away from it, just muffle it.
Step 2: Find a steady ground.
Try listening to music. The music doesn't need to make you happy, nor does it need to relate to your situation. Find peace when you can't find happiness, it's the next best thing.
Step 3: Learn that it's okay to fall apart.
Success isn't always getting it on the first try, it's learning to struggle through the highs and lows, but picking yourself back up and starting over every time.
Step 4: Learn how to control your thoughts.
Now as hard as it may seem, it's possible. The best way to learn to control your thoughts is to separate yourself from the situation. Separate emotion from logic and deal with it logically first.
Step 5: Get rid of anything toxic.
This includes toxic people, music or items. When it comes to letting go of toxic people, it's incredibly hard to let go. If you know that it is going to turn out bad in the end, it's best to end things on your own terms rather than being unprepared and hurt. If you get rid of any "toxic items", you are limiting your access, when you do this it gradually reduces urge. Try not to listen to toxic music, because this changes your mindset for the worse without you even knowing it.
