The Siren [ Mer!Deku x reader/Oc]

Prologue

Our story begins a long time ago, about a million years ago. Creatures called humans ruled the world above the waves. While the depths below was ruled my the Merqueen Mariana. The merfolk were a proud and hearty race, they had strong tails and could survive almost any ocean environment and can be found almost all over the world. For a time both mers and mortals lived in harmony. Until the Queen was found dead, by human hands. In a rage, her mate King Rato delcared war on the humans that would last for hundreds of years. Though the mer people may be hearty, the humans where smart and sneaky with their tools and illusions. They suprised the merfolk, with their strength, crafty tools, and strategy. The mers started to loose their numbers rabidly, from millions the population dropped to 10 thousand. While the human loss was rather light, they become more deadly into their "Golden age" of history. With not many choices, the merpoeple turned to the close cusion of the mer species. The sirens, the more fragile and elegant cusions of mer on the evolutionary tree. The merpeople over looked them for their fraility, but looks can be deceiving. The Sirens adapted beautiful voices to entrance anyone, and were strong in magic. With the Sirens help the Mer were able to push back the humans. Although, the help of the sirens, with in a few years sirens went from overlooked to feared in both humans and Merpeople. The sirens would entrance the humans into crashing their boats and then would drown the humans in the depths of the ocean. This made the Mer people fear them despite the many victories brought to them. The some humans took advantage of the Mer's fear and made " alliances" with the Mers in promise to end the war soon and quicker. The Mers were very naive creatures and gadly accepted these faulty alliances, but the sirens saw throught the humans tricks and tried to warn the merfolk. Sadly the humans had the mers wrapped around their fingers, but the sirens weren't going to let the mers suffer their fate. So they attacked the humans to save the Mer people, but this was what the humans wanted, the sirens fell for the humans trick. The humans quickly took advantage of the situation and blamed the sirens, painting them as evil and wicked tricksters, and that they were the cause of this long lasting war, this was the humans plan to divide and concur. With the already existing fear towards the sirens, the Mer people quickly believed those lies. In emotional and physical exhaustion from this long War the Mer people were becoming desperate to stop fighting. So the humans struck a deal, they promised to leave the Mers alone as long as they don't interfere their war on the sirens. The Mers happily agreed, and swam back into the depths. As the years passed, the sirens managed well against the humans, but they too eventually started to became physically exhausted. The tables quickly turned in the humans favor, as the humans eventually were able to push and
Corral sirens into shores, coves, and even in rivers. It all seemed lost, when an unlikely ally came to the rescue. The werewolf Alpha came to the sirens rescue. His pack was also being hunted and slaughtered by the humans, finding a common enemy the sirens and werewolves formed an alliance. With this new alliance the humans were pushed back once more. As time went on along with the war, other mythical creatures went through great lengths to be apart of the alliance to knock humans down a peg. Creatures like the centaurs to, shape-shifting dragons, harpies, kitsune, and even fairies to name a few. War waged on for decades, the humans refused to surrender. Until one day the Kings ship was attacked, sadly details we're lost to history. After that event the humans finally surrendered. The humans finally left the creatures alone, but the fear of humans and war still in mind the creatures found abounch of isolated Islands.

Majority of the creatures came to the island, well someone back to their Homeland. Although once the creatures settled on the islands they made a council to govern there new home and country Esperia. As time went on the humans eventually forgot about the the creature and started to take more land, but thatnks to the magic of the sirens, fairies, and Kitsune they were able to blend in as humans. Though Esperia hasn't really changed through the passage of time, they were able to claim country hood as a micronation to the eyes of humans. As human got more technologically advanced, they become more curious of Esperia. So with magic they created large tropic island a little farther away from their clusters of our home islands, those islands were off limits to humans. The build a tropical tourist destination, to quench the Curiosity of tourist and other humans, it also kept them entertained and out of their hair. It also rolled in some money to buy supplies for the country. The humans love the lush coral reefs around the islands which brought more unwanted attention. Soon Esperia was a well known to tourist stop, so rules had to be set by our Council, or government in the eyes of a human. The main island, or the tourist Island, is free to wander. The other Islands were off limits, and no big fishing companies were allowed to fish around Esperia. Fishing had to be done by pole or spear, to give the sirens an advantage in their mini fish markets. Money was made by shops, restraints, trinkets, and other things humans want. All the employees on the island were the Esperians themselves, all in human disguise. We had to quickly adjust to the ever-changing and advancing humans, so we can stay hidden. Relations between all the mythical races for a peaceful one. Well all except between the sirens and the Mer's. The Mer people still remain fearful and suspicious of the sirens, even to this very day.
