Boredom - Bruce Banner

Y/N is an agent at S.H.I.E.L.D, only having been employed for a few months when first recruited to be a part of the avengers, this was due to her phenomenal skills in, spy work, hacking, and hand to hand combat. Unknown to the company Y/N also takes a real interest in science and, although she isn't the best at it, loves to listen to different theories on just about anything.

Usually life in Stark tower is full of action, today however, was full of boredom. It was the avengers day off, a very rare occasion, and Y/N was just lounging in her room listening to music and reading. About 4 hours later she decided she couldn't possibly stay still any longer. Making up her mind she jumped up and left to visit Tony and Bruce in the lab hoping to cure this awful case of boredom.

Y/N's POV

As i got closer to the lab I could feel my heartbeat quickening as I thought about seeing Bruce. I'd had a hopeless crush on him since i moved here. I'm fairly certain he doesn't feel the same so I haven't told anyone. Im just happy to spend any time with him at all.
I opened the door to the lab and saw bruce lost in thought at his computer, I couldn't help but smile at how cute he looked. "See something you like?" Tony asked, smirking when i jumped at his sudden appearance. I glared at him jokingly "I'm gonna put a bell on you i swear!" I yelled with a slight pout. At this, Bruce looked up finally aware of my appearance. I couldn't help but feel a bit shy as he smiled and started to walk over. Of course Tony noticed and whispered to me "no need to be shy, just tell him how sexy you think he is." I felt my cheeks heat up with embarrassment and I glared at him for a second before Bruce reached us. "Hey, what brings you down here?" He asked with a sweet smile. I smiled back trying not to stumble over my words. "Nothing really i just couldn't think of anything to do and i always have fun when I'm here" I answered. Then Tony spoke up and made me shy all over again "what she really means is that she missed you." I just stood there unable to deny what he was saying but also not wanting to agree either. To my great relief Bruce laughed it off and instead asked if i wanted to see what he was working on. I happily agreed and followed him back to his work. Tony finally gave up and went back to his own project when Bruce started explaining the details to me.
We spent most of the day together, with Bruce walking me though what he was doing the whole time. Around 8pm is when we decided to call it a day. "Sorry for keeping you so long I'm sure you could have found something more interesting to do.." he said sounding a bit regretful. I looked at him confused "what do you mean? I had a lot of fun, it was easy to understand thanks to you plus i always love seeing the end results." I smiled happily at him, further assuring him that i did have fun. Bruce blushed a bit and nodded which made me smile like an idiot to the point i had to look away, afraid he'd see and ask questions. "Im glad you had fun. That was probably the best day I've had at work in a long time." He smiled at me sweetly and i just smiled back not quite trusting myself not to squeal and call him cute for the way he was acting. "We should get some food, its been a long day and I haven't seen you eat anything." He spoke up. "Hey! You didn't eat either!" I teased him laughing a bit at the fact we had actually forgotten. "I know, i know. How about we both get some food. then, if you- well.. I mean if you want.. we can, uh.." he laughed quietly at himself before trying again speaking a bit faster then normal "we can watch a movie.. or something... Oh, um, together I mean" as I looked up i saw he was nervously looking away which didn't help how shy he had just made me by asking that. I blushed slightly and nodded carefully speaking up trying my best not to stutter. "Yeah. That sounds.. uh- sounds.. um.. haha, i mean.. that sounds really great.." I mentally facepalmed at how badly i failed to make even one sentence. "Okay, cool." i risked a short glance at Bruce to see he was smiling and looking down a bit awkwardly. I decided to speak up once more hopefully breaking the awkwardness just a bit. "Why don't i make us some food and we can eat while watching?" I was surprised at how well my words came out, although they did sound a bit rushed. "yeah, okay. That sounds good." he agreed and I nodded heading to the kitchen. "will you go pick a movie while I cook? Then I'll meet you in the living room when the foods done." he nodded once more and we separated briefly. Once I was alone I let out a deep breath of nervousness and covered my mouth trying not to squeal or yell in happiness. I quickly took a deep breath and refocused myself.
Once in the kitchen it took me a few minutes before deciding to just make chicken and rice since it was simple but still tasted good. Once the food was done I made two plates and was about to leave when Tony walked in. "looks delicious." he said eyeing the plates. "there's some more in the fridge, I made extra just for you. That being said, eat alone tonight." I said quickly as I rushed out leaving a confused Tony behind.
I walked in and saw Bruce sitting on the couch, he straightened a bit when he noticed me. I handed him his plate and took a seat next to him. It was a big couch but I wanted to be near him, still to avoid being to obvious I was sure to leave a small gap between us. I looked at the screen and grinned seeing my favorite Disney movie. "Mulan!!!" I yelled happily. I heard Bruce laugh beside me "I remember you saying how much you love it" I looked at him surprised "didn't I say that like once? And wasn't that months ago?" I laughed happily "I'm surprised you remembered." he blushed a bit as and nodded shyly. "You seemed excited when talking about it so I made a point to remember. I figured I could try to use it to make you smile at some point.." I blushed at his words and nodded thankfully, still a bit surprised he thought to remember something so simple just for me. He grabbed the remote, hitting play. "let's watch, shall we?" he smiled at me and set the remote down to eat. I nodded and started to eat as well.
Once finished, we set our plates aside to finish watching the movie. Now that we weren't distracted by food I felt more aware of Bruce beside me. I glanced at him and blushed as we made eye contact then both quickly looked away. Suddenly I felt the couch sink a bit and realized he scooted closer and our legs are now touching. Even that small movement alone overwhelmed me with shyness. "u-um, Y/N?" I looked at him surprised at him suddenly speaking. "..yeah? What's up..?" I asked nervously. "I want to tell you something.."

Bruce's  POV

As I looked at Y/N I could feel myself losing confidence. I wanted to confess to her but I just didn't think I could. I wouldn't even be trying if it wasn't for Tony telling me if I didn't make a move he would. Of course I'm sure she'd say no to me and probably go for him anyways but I just couldn't bare the thought of not even trying. I was arguing with myself in my mind when I realized she was staring at me confused since I had just suddenly stopped talking. "Bruce? What is it? You know you can talk to me.." she smiled sweetly at me and I felt my heart rate increase just slightly. I looked in her eyes and finally just said it. "I like you. I have for a long time Y/N/N I didn't know how to tell you and I'm not even sure if I should, but Tony said if I didn't tell you he'd go for you and I didn't want to give up without even trying and I know you probably don't feel the same but I just-" "Bruce!" she cut me off and grabbed my hands. "listen to me okay? First calm down, second I'm gonna hit Tony for saying that to you, third if he tried anything with me he'd lose a limb, and forth.." she looked straight at me and I could tell she was blushing. I knew i was too at this point. But the next words she said made everything worth it. "I like you too Bruce." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and smiled at her, quickly pulling her in for a hug. She hugged back tightly and buried her face in my chest. As I pulled away I caught a glimpse of her face and suddenly realized just how much I wanted to kiss her.

Y/N's POV

As I looked back up at Bruce I saw his eyes were on my lips and I couldn't stop the excitement racing through my body. I blushed at his soft shy words "do you think I'd be okay if I.. Um, if I.... Kissed, you...?" I grinned and nodded, before wrapping my arms around him, and leaning up slightly. Bruce smiled and moved a hand to my waist, placing the other on my cheek. He slowly moved in and I closed my eyes as our lips met in a soft slow kiss. I felt like my body was on fire and i knew it was because i was so overcome with emotion. He started to pull away but I surprised even myself when i whined slightly and pulled him back. I just didn't want to let him go yet. After a few more moments we finally parted and i blushed like crazy realizing what i did. As i looked up I saw Bruce had a slight smirk, a look i never had the pleasure of seeing on him before. "Finally!!" We both jumped and turned to see Tony standing in the doorway with a proud look on his face. Bruce just rolled his eyes and looked at me "be my girlfriend Y/N?" I blushed and nodded "of course" I noticed Tony doing a silent cheer in the background but instead of responding to him i just pulled Bruce closer again and resumed our kiss. "Oh, okay, i see you guys want privacy, just know if you do anything inappropriate in here I'll make you pay for a new couch" as he ran out I flipped him off, still not breaking apart from Bruce. A while later we pulled away to catch our breath and Bruce took the opportunity to tease me with his new boost of confidence. "if I had known you wanted me this bad I would of confessed a long time ago." I smacked his arm playfully and pouted "I can't help it! I really have wanted to be with you for so long..." I blushed as I confessed and he smiled pulling me to his lap. "Well what do you say we make up for lost time" he pulled me back into a kiss and I happily accepted. This is definitely the best fix to a day of boredom.
