Just a fun one shot of Francah from a very bored mycah. leave me alone ok

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mycah's eyes glistened around the empty gym. Confetti covering the whole flooring, streamers about to fall off, and bits of trash scattered around the whole area. She sighed to herself, knowing that the 'best night of her life' was a complete failure.

The boy that was her 'date' never showed up, so Mycah had to sit by the corner all alone watching, to her own disgrace, the happy people dancing with their own dates. Her friends, Ces, Angela, and Chelsea offered her to come with them, but she shook her head no because she didn't want to be the third wheel, or the '7th'.

Mycah breathed a low sigh and finally stood up, brushing down her flowy white dress, and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "So much for the best day of my life," she said lowly. As she slowly reached the door, she looked behind her shoulder looking at the empty gym once more.

She walked outside, a cool breeze brushing on her skin, making her tingle. Mycah completely forgot that her friends were her ride home, but they've already left so she called her mom, meaning she has to wait for her for another few minutes.

The girl took off her heels, leaving her barefooted. It wouldn't matter anyways because no one was there to judge her. And her with her amazing luck, it suddenly started to pour rain. "Why?!" she screeched, her head falling to the palm of her hands. "Why do you have to make my 'best day' even worse?" She airquoted 'best day'.

"Mycs...?" a voice not too far away from her said. Mycah looked behind her and she saw a familiar boy standing almost right behind her.

A brow arched up and she squinted to make sure she wasn't seeing things. "Francis?"

He walked over to her, taking off his jacket and handing his umbrella over to her. Francis moved to the neighborhood 2 weeks ago. He looked at the shivering girl. "Anong ginagawa mo dito magisa? It's raining and freezing cold."

"Well, I didn't know it was going to rain until it happened," she joked.

"Very funny," he flatly said. "Diba homecoming niyo or...?" Francis finally mentioned.

"Oo, kaso.." she slowly looked down on the ground.

"Can you tell me what happened? If you want to, but let's get out of the rain first. Halika, malapit lang ang bahay ko," he said and took her hand.

The rain eventually stopped by the time they had reach Francis' house. As they entered, he looked at her soaking dress and looked back up at her. "We should let you change. My sister still has some clothes that will probably fit you."

"Uh, are you sure she won't mind?" Mycah replied shyly.

"Nah, my sister is cool," he flashed a small smile.

- - -

"So, anong nangyari sa homecoming?" Francis asked curiously. Mycah closed her eyes tightly. "You don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable."

"Hindi," she shook her head. "I'll tell you. When I reached the gym, I was really excited. The decorations, the loud music booming in my ears and the chatters, and I was really excited to go to the dance with the guy I really liked, but as I waited for him to show up, he didn't. The seconds, the minutes, went by too quickly and it was finally time for the last dance. But I couldn't go on the dance floor because he never showed up..."

"So... you never got your last dance," he asked softly.

"Nope."

"Well, I happen to have a stereo in the backyard and the stars are bright out tonight, so maybe I'll be your last dance?" he offered.

"You would really do that?" her voice filled up with hope.

"Of course, come on," he beamed brightly and showed her to his backyard. A smile crept upon Mycah's face.

Francis took her outside his backyard and Mycah was in complete awe. She looked up at the sky and he was right. The stars were fully out and they were completely stunning. "Stay here," he told her. Francis walked over to the large stereo and put in a CD and pressed 'Play'. "This is my favorite song," it was Kiss by TC and Sam Kang. He walked back over to her and took her hand, pulling her in a little bit closer.

The girl was speechless. She looked up at him and couldn't help but smile. Silence filled the backyard, except for the music playing and the crickets chirping.

"Whoever that guy was that stood you up is a big jerk. Sinasabi ko lang." he simply stated. Mycah punched him on the shoulder softly and rolled her eyes but she was really trying to hide her blushing. They continued on dancing.

The grass was still wet and Mycah accidentally stepped on a puddle and slipped. She closed her eyes and waited for impact but she felt none. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw Francis' face close to hers. He had caught her.

"Are you okay?" he asked. His eyes sparkled like the stars.

"Yeah, I'm- I'm fine." she stuttered.

They straightened themselves. Francis pulled her in and they continued to sway to the music.

So what if she didn't have a good time at the dance? So what if her date didn't show up? So what if it rained on her way home? If all of those things didn't happen then this wouldn't exist. Even though she wasn't wearing her dress Mycah didn't care. This was better. Much much better.

And she wouldn't have had it any other way.
