•Maria POV•
I still remember everything that happened only a few days ago. I remember my life before all of this, all of this murder and drama. Yongguk and I were so peaceful, he'd pick me up from my house and take me all around town. I remember our first date, we went to the little soda shop downtown, we were so young and stupid. He used to be so quiet around me, then one day he just never shut up, he used to talk for hours on end. I remember moving in with the group, they threw me a welcome home party, and for once I finally felt I was welcomed, like I was cared for. Jongup quickly became my best friend, he would always care for me just like Yongguk did, it made me think he had a crush on me, but I knew he just cared and didn't want me to get hurt.

I looked around the room I once loved being in, our king sized mattress covered in blankets and pillows used to be so comfortable I would skip class just to stay. I had so many memories in this room, so many fights fought, tears cried, everything. I remember Yongguk asking me to be his girlfriend in this room, he was so nervous and shy, he kept choking up and shaking, he was precious.

I was so deep in thought I honestly forgot where I was, until I heard a knock. I rushed to the door to see Yongguk, I hugged him so quickly, I keep thinking about how differently he's been hugging me here lately, as if it was our last. His heart was beating slowly, he was calm, but how? One of his members just died, and he has a whole group coming after him. I tightly gripped the back of his jacket, the smooth leather getting slightly wrinkled in my hands. "Promise me." I croaked out, making him look down at me in confusion, "Promise you what, baby?" His fingers were running through my hair, and scratching the back of scalp lightly. I looked up him, tears in my eyes, "Promise me you'll stay alive, and we'll be okay" I knew he probably couldn't keep that promise. He hesitated slightly, but ultimately he kissed my forehead softly and sighed heavily, "I promise, baby." I knew he only said that to make me feel better, but a part of me wanted to believe it, like he would really do it.

He waited for me to let go, that was always one good thing he did, he let me end the hugs. After a few minutes I finally released my grasp, and he did as well. He smiled slightly, "I love you baby, please never forget that." His hand gently cupped my cheek, his smile was genuine, he's always so soft and loving around me. I smiled back up at him, "I love you too baby." His smiled grew slightly bigger, he kissed my lips and I kissed back. I felt safe around him, like any gang in the world couldn't touch be when he was around.
