4 days before christmas

Sooyoung organised the counter, her gaze not leaving Jiwoo, who was happily seated on one of the shop's tables, eating her strawberry ice cream. She came early again, after she promised to never let Sooyoung work late at night. She swang her legs as she watched people pass by, some coming back from christmas shopping.

Sooyoung didn't fail to notice the little pout that decorated Jiwoo's thin lips, and mentally noted to ask her about it later.

"Go sit with your girlfriend, don't let her wait too much" Sooyoung choked, jumping at the sudden voice that spoke next to her ear.

"Yerim!!!" Sooyoung whined "stop doing that. Plus, s-she's not even my girlfriend, stop assuming" she mumbled, as she washed some used spoons by the sink.
"Whatever you say.." Yerim shrugged, an obvious smile on her face as she eyed the girl eating her ice cream.

~time skips~

Sooyoung looked at the time, and back to Haseul that was about to clap her hands as usual. "IT'S TIME HASEUL, we know ,you don't have to do that" She quickly interrupted her, as she quickly dried her hands in her apron and took it off to hung it. Haseul blinked a few times and let her arms fall by her side slightly pouting. You could say she secretly loved doing that everytime they had to close.
Yerim, as usual was already out, as for Sooyoung, she slowly walked to the sleeping girl that was resting her head on the table, an empty cone by her side.

"Jiwoo~ it's time, we should leave" Sooyoung shook her shoulder lightly, half-heartedly. Jiwoo looked peaceful, her lips slightly apart, as she let out quiet snores. Sooyoung found herself melting at the sight but was pulled out of her trance when Haseul coughed, a smirk on her lips as she stood next to the door.

Jiwoo slowly woke up, rubbing her eyes with her small fists. Sooyoung's heart flipped and she tried not squish the girl's cheeks.

"Is it time to go..?" she mumbled loud enough for Sooyoung to hear her. She lazily stood up, her knees almost giving up on her, as she clinged into Sooyoung to find balance. The older smiled softly as she held her hand."yeah.."

At this point Haseul was already gone too, leaving the two there.

Sooyoung came up with an idea. "Jiwoo get on my back" she said. She bent in front of the tired girl. Jiwoo didn't protest, as she wrapped her arms around Sooyoung's neck and rested her head on the older's shoulders.
She got picked up easily, and she would probably be lying if she said that she wasn't enjoying that.
She snuggled closer to Sooyoung, inhaling the soft scent of her hair, that tickled Jiwoo's face..

The two remained silent, at least Sooyoung did, thinking Jiwoo was fast asleep. They got in front of the house she remembered from last night, and as she was about to wake Jiwoo up, the girl mumbled something and handed her keys.
So Sooyoung unlocked the door and walked inside, ever so carefully, she eyed the dark interior of the house. The walls were white, with huge paintings on them.. She had noticed the amount of vases and paintings as she walked further inside the house.

She finally made it to a door by the end of a corridor, and she opened it and pushed the door carefully. It was her bedroom. Or so she thought, it looked more like an art gallery, with a blank canvas and a few paint brushes laying on the ground at some corner of the room, along with some paintings that seemed done.
She assumed it was a bedroom by the medium bed in the middle of the room. So she walked there slowly trying not to wake Jiwoo up. She was about to put her on the bed when she felt a small tug on her jacket.

"not here.." She whispered lazily. She pointed at the pile of blankets and pillows by the window. Sooyoung hummed and walked there, putting Jiwoo softly on the confortable sheets. She helped her remove the uncomfortable oversized jacket, and the many scarfs she was wearing. She covered her with a blanket, and as she was about to leave a hand grabbed hers.

"Sooyoungie..stay a little longer, please" Jiwoo whispered softly, her eyes now looking up at her.
Sooyoung paused a little, and hummed, a smile making its way to her lips.

She hesitantly layed down next to her, her arms by her side, as she didn't want to disturb the girl's sleep. But that didn't last longer. Jiwoo moved closer a hugged the older, wrapping the other's arms around her waist herself, since Sooyoung didn't seem to move anytime soon.
Jiwoo sighed in content, and Sooyoung chuckled fondly at the younger's child-like actions.

"You're very comfortable, Sooyoungie"she mumbled cutely. Sooyoung smiled widely."is that so?" She chuckled. Jiwoo hummed, nodding softly in Sooyoung's embrace. Her cheeks glowed a rosy shade at the thought of Sooyoung cuddling her, playing with strands of her hair.

"Jiwoo..?" Sooyoung quietly called out, remembering something..

"yeah..?" the younger mumbled, her nose scrunching. Sooyoung bit her lip silently cooing at the girl's cuteness.

"i wanted to ask you.. you seemed a little down earlier, in the shop" She continued quietly. Jiwoo opened her eyes, a little pout on her lips.

"i did?" she asked in her small voice.
"yeah.. in the evening? when it was crowded outside, from, you know, people getting ready for Christmas.." she looked up remembering seeing Jiwoo's pupils following people outisde, a sad look in her eyes.

She chuckled lightly. "ah.. it's stupid"

"no it's not, come on, what's bothering you.." Sooyoung whispered, worry laced in her voice. Jiwoo looked at her, unsure.

"uh, well.. this is my first Christmas on my own, all by myself.." she mumbled, almost embarrassed about it.

"oh.. " silence.. " well, me too actually..." Sooyoung smiled, reassuring the younger. "i'm not celebrating Christmas this year.."
Jiwoo stared at her, surprise drawn on her face.

"That-----" Jiwoo paused. "What if, i don't know.." she bit her lip hesitantly.

"What's on your mind?"

"We both deserve to.. celebrate Christmas.. don't you think?"

Sooyoung raised an eyebrow. "you're saying, we should-"

"celebrate christmas together.. yeah" Jiwoo cut her off, the red on her cheeks vibrant, almost glowing in the moon lighted room.

"i think it's a good idea" the older whispered after awhile.. Jiwoo hugged her closer, hiding her face from how warm it was getting.

The night was peaceful, all so comforting, and Sooyoung felt as if she got to know Jiwoo a little more.. Though they didn't share that many words, they both felt somehow closer to the other.

Sooyoung's heartbeat quickened, realization finally hitting her.

She looked at the now-sleeping girl, butterflies erupted from her stomach. She shifted her eyes to the ceiling, her cheeks burned at the thought..

She had fallen for the cute girl with the unexplainable strawberry addiction..
