Chapter 18

*** 5 years later ***

***Hayes and I have been together 5 years next week. Today is Sam and Kians 1 year marriage anniversary.***

I woke up in a house on the beach with my wonderful boyfriend Hayes beside me. Today we had plans with Sam and Kian to go out to dinner for there 1 year anniversary. There wedding was just absolulty perfect. Sam had planned a wedding on the beach and rode off into the sunset with her loving husband. They had only been together for 3 years but they couldn't wait. They were too in love. Next week is me and Hayes 5 YEAR anniversary. Yeah 5 YEARS with this guy. I just couldn't believe Sam got marrieds before me. No offense I have just been dating WAY longer. Sam and Kian moved in a house about 10 mins from us on the beach as well. And life was perfect. I had graduated last year with Sam, she had a degree in marine biology. And I was an anastigeologist. ( They are the people that put you asleep during surgery! #dreamjob ) Our senior year of college our lacrosse team won the National Champs against North Carolina. Hayes graduated with a master degree. But he really didn't need it because he got signed to the Tampa Bay Buck's. And I really don't know what Kian does.

I got out of bed and put on a over size Tampa shirt with my balck spandex and then I went into the bathroom to put my hair up and looked down to my promise ring. I couldn't wait until I had a engagement ring on. As I was admiring my ring I felt someone hug my from behind and kiss me on the cheek. (Btw it was Hayes).

" What ya looking at babe" Hayes asked.

" Oh nothing" I said stuttering. I turned around and hugged him back.

" Hey I was just about to go and make some pancakes. Want any? " I asked grabbing his hand and walking out to the kitchen.

" I'd love some." He said grinning.

" Oh and I'm gonna go to the Mall with Samantha today to help her select a present for Kian tonight." Hayes said.

" Perfect I'll come with." I said.

" NO, I mean I was hoping you could keep Kian distracted." Hayes said trying to cover up something.

" Oh ok" I said pouring the pancake mix on to the stove.

It was quiet for about 10 minutes until I was done with the pancakes. I only made 2 because I didn't want any.

" Here you go." I said an putting the pancakes on the plate and walking away.

" Mal are you-" Hayes said but I cut him off.

" Yeah, I'm not hungry. I'm gonna go take a shower." I said shutting the bathroom door.

Hayes POV

Mal slammed the door to the bathroom and I heard the water running so I quickley finished up eating and got dressed. I couldn't let Mal know what was really happening with Sam and me today.

Mal POV

I got out of the shower and put on shorts, a blue top, and sandles. I called for Hayes but I couldn't find him. I walked out into the kitchen and found a note.

        Hey sorry I couldn't say bye I had to leave. Keep Kian busy and I'll meet you back at the house @ 3. Dinner is at 5.

I grabbed the keys and walked out to the car and pulled off in my black ford truck cause Hayes took the Jeep.

Hayes POV

I got to Kay Jewlers with Sam to pick out the perfect wedding ring for Mal.

" What does she like" I asked Sam.

" Well she really always liked that promise ring you got her. Mal loves the gold ban and the gold diamond." Sam said.

" That ones perfect!" I said pointing at a ring that looks the same as the promise ring but bigger diamond.

I ended up buying the one I saw. After Sam and Kian's dinner I'm gonna ask her. The resturant is on the Fort Myer pier so I'm gonna walk all the way down to the end and when the sunsets I'm gonna do it. I just hope she isn't still pissed at me cause that would ruin the moment!

I got home and put on a White Polo with khasis. Malory was wearing a black skin tight dress with her brown long hair straight ironed, a gold wath and tall balck heals. Damn she looked hot. I had apoligized when I got home and she bought what I said I just really hope tonight goes well.

Mal's POV

We got to the resturant with Sam, Kian, and Hayes. I orded a salad and was having a white wine. (By now I was 23 so I could drink) It was almost 7 and the sun was setting. We had a beautiful evening.

" Hey could you walk outside with me?" Hayes asked.

" Yeah sure" I said.

Hayes POV

I gave Sam and Kian a '2 minutes walk out' face so they could see and take pitures.

Mals POV

We walked all the way down to the end of the pier. Hayes looked really nervous.

" Malory Heinemann I wanted to say that I loved you so so so very much. And I also wanted to say Thanks." Hayes stopped.

" Thanks for what" I asked.

" Thanks for keeping the promise because you won't have to any more." Hayes smiled and got on one knee.

I covered my mouth with my hands and started crying.

"Your gonna have to keep an even bigger promise with this." Hayes opened up a little black box with a huge diamond ring.

" Malory will you marry me?" Hayes asked. OMG those words in my head.

" Yes"
