Imogen seemed fairly confused when I took out my laptop and plugged it into the TV. I opened a document which on it contained a well planned out but long family tree. I grabbed a broken pen and sat Imogen on the couch directly across from the TV and began.

"You see there are 8 grandparents and stuff well it doesn't matter because there are only three that are alive are Lincan, Margaret and Pete. But Pete and Margaret got married and had two kids, Rob and Richard"

"Rob married Amber and had Liam before getting a divorce and Amber married a man called Dick and having a daughter called Lilli who had a daughter herself called Madi. Rob then married a man called Eugene"

"Now Rob's brother Richard married a woman called Susan and had 3 kids, Camilla, me and Castor. Camilla married Steve and had twins called Tristan and Jessi. But unfortunately Richard, my Dad, died recently." I explained.

"So that's the immediate family and mostly everyone who's coming to the family party" I started "But you need to know things about them so let's start with Rob, he is very kind and accepting just don't start talking about politics. Eugene, he is very headstrong and doesn't realize his own strength and may accidentally hurt you but he's outgoing and severely allergic to awkward silences. Lilli, she had Madi when she was 16 and is the basic teenager and a fairly irresponsible parent but she can't hold grudges and is a bit of an idiot just never ask who Madi's dad is. Madi is 3 years old and extremely hyper but gets nervous around others she doesn't know, she really likes reading and will often ask what certain words mean. Are you keeping up?" I asked Imogen who looked as if she were struggling to keep the information from falling right out of her brain.

"Camilla is polite and a basic housewife, she will just go on and on about things like knitting and cooking just pretend to listen and you'll be fine. Steve is a paranoid man who believes in aliens and can be easily persuaded but he is afraid of closed spaces. Cartor is an absolute pervert to everyone of any gender despite having no actually romantic desires or interest in relationships or any sort, he is aromantic and asexual since his first ever boyfriend Micha died in a car accident and ever since he refuses to date. Then there is my Mum Susan who is very kind but very nervous and will often avoid eye contact and stress eat but she wants the best for all of us and tries to be the best she can to us since Dad died. Now you need to be very careful about Tristan and Jessi, Tristan is basically destined to be a drug dealer and he sells the kids in school things like lollies, fizzy drinks and basically anything you can pay enough for but he may also try to sell you a white powder that will 'keep you young' now whatever you do DO NOT SNIFF THE POWER I AM 99.9% SURE THAT IT IS COCAINE! and he gives Madi things like wizz fizz and sugar sticks. Now Jessi is non-binary and gets really upset when you use the incorrect pronouns so it's better to just ask them what they want and Jessi is resoundingly normal, despite having a child drug dealer as a twin he is very normal looking and acting which for my family is very very very unique. Amber is Liam's Mum and a total bitch she is super rude to everyone and anyone who doesn't have something that she wants, she won't hesitate to injure someone who gets in her way and has an addiction to vodka mixed with lemon juice. Her husband is Dick and no Dick isn't short for Richard his name is just Dick but don't mention it or he will probably try to strangle, you he has no pleasant traits and smells like old expensive cigarettes."

By that point Imogen almost looked ready to pass out but despite that she still asked questions.

"So your grandparents aren't coming?" She asked to which I nodded.

"Why is Liams Dad's ex wife and her new husband coming?". This was a genuinely a good question to which I was still unsure of but I had a fair idea because of my mother who loved everyone no matter what type of serial killer they are.
