Rushing out of Chloe's house, Beca got into her car and drove off as fast as she could. Tears blurred her vision but that didn't stop the brunette from hightailing it out of there. Beca was hurt beyond words. She truly thought that she and Chloe had something. Even though they weren't in a relationship, it was so obvious that they were attracted to each other. From the very first moment they met, Beca felt something and she knew that Chloe had felt something, too, or else the redhead wouldn't have invited Beca to sit with her and Aubrey that night. The whole night was pretty much Beca and Chloe getting to know each other and flirting with one another the more alcohol they had consumed. Once Chloe loosened up, she didn't care that she was openly flirting and Beca knew it was wrong but she liked Chloe.
Even though Beca couldn't remember it, she and Chloe got married for a reason. Yes, they were drunk but they were two strangers who got married. There was obviously something between them - something strong - that made them want to get married. Despite it being a drunken mistake, Beca still hung onto her wedding ring. She didn't know where it came from but all she knew was that Chloe put it on her finger. Chloe had made Beca hers with that ring and Beca made Chloe hers with her own ring, which she didn't know what Chloe did with. Beca knew it was silly to hold onto such a thing but it meant something to her. She couldn't explain it properly but she hoped that one day that she could use the ring for real, preferably with Chloe. Again, she knew it was silly and upright outrageous since she had only known Chloe for a few weeks but her feelings were very much real and right now, they were very much hurt.
Beca couldn't even begin to explain the level of hurt she was experiencing. She really wanted something with Chloe and she was sure she was going to get it. You don't just jump someone's bones like Chloe did if you didn't want something serious to follow. Beca knew that Chloe liked her but it was clear that Chloe wasn't ready to accept her feelings for the tiny brunette. Beca wanted nothing more than for Chloe to be hers but unfortunately, she chose Chicago and even though she was confident they were going to break up, Beca could never be with Chloe just for the simple fact that Chloe chose him over her. Beca knew she was worth more than that. It was painful to accept that she and Chloe could never be but she was willing to have a little bit of pain if that meant she could have a lifetime of happiness and freedom, even if Chloe wasn't apart of it.
Beca pulled out onto the highway and headed towards home when she got a phone call from Stacie. Beca quickly pulled herself together the best she could before answering.
"Hi, Stace,"
"Hey, Becs, are you still at Chloe's?"
"No, I'm heading home now. I'm just on the highway at the moment."
"Oh, okay. You were there late."
"Yeah, I lost track of time. Sorry for not letting you know."
"That's okay."
"You're not with Aubrey?"
"Not tonight. She had to work late at the Lodge so she decided to stay there for the night instead of driving home tired. I'll see her tomorrow though."
"Okay," she sniffed.
"Are you okay? You don't sound so well."
"I'm fine, Stacie, I've just got a runny nose that's all."
"Are you sure it's got nothing to do with Chloe?"
"Stacie, I said I'm fine so just- HOLY SHIT!"
Stacie jolted at Beca's scream then heard a loud crash in the background.
"Beca? Beca? Beca are you there? Are you okay? Beca? BECA!"
~
"Well?" Chicago prompted. "What did I do to you that was so bad that you had to cheat on me?"
