***Adam's POV***
What's taking her so long? Not even the beat of the drums in the background is soothing me. She has exactly two more minutes till I come over there and drag her over here myself...not that I wouldn't mind that anyways.
Don't get me wrong! I don't like her like that. Yeah, she's probably the only person I know to be both sexy and beautiful. Yeah, she's hilarious, friendly, and a smartass. But she's so annoying! Why? My conscience asked. 'Cuz she's so stubborn and never listens to me unlike the other sluts! She's not a slut. Admit it: She's different. Of course she's different if she's the only girl on earth who would ever turn Adam White down! What's your point, conscience? My conscience was quiet after that. Thought so. Not that you dumbass. That really is the perfect nickname for you. That girl is really smart! Anyways, two minutes is up, dumbass.
I checked on my phone and sure enough my conscience was right. I can't believe this girl didn't listen to me! All I saw was red now. How dare she? Uncompromising, that's what she -
My thoughts were immediately thrown out the window when I saw her make her way to a table with drinks. She looked so beautiful and sexy at the same time. I didn't think that that outfit would look so great on her. I didn't think that that outfit would be tight in all the right places and show off all her curves so well. I didn't think that that outfit would somehow make her look like a temptress, but with a more modest appearance. Ugh, all these 'I didn't think's!
Why am I staring at her for so long like a creepy stalker? I could already see all the guys in here checking out her amazing...I mean...yeah, I have no other words for it...body. I saw even more red than before when I was angry at her when I thought she wouldn't come. Why am I seeing red?! I guess I feel an urgent need to protect her from these guys, whether they were my friends or not. But a smirk came to my face when I realized something: She came on her own. You blackmailed her. Shut up, she still came on her own without me having to kidnap her. Although realizing my conscience was right, I still walked up to her with the smirk still plastered across my face.
"The name is Dale. Brian Dale. Yours?" I was leaning with my back against the table and she suddenly looked up at me.
"Adam, what are you doing?" She was clearly confused. But her confusion could've ruined the reputation of this place.
"Shhh, I'm not Adam here. Here, you call me Brian," I replied.
"Oh, is that your gang name or is this where you learned your lessons on how to become a guru?" She replied, with her eyebrows raised and amusement clear in her tone.
"Nope," I replied popping the 'p'.
"Where exactly are we?" She gestured to our surroundings.
I smiled. I've been coming here since I was fourteen. I really don't know what to call this place either. It's like a second home to me, although it is very different from my original home. The appearance of the place seems to resemble an abandoned parking garage except for the large posts that you'd commonly find in a still functioning one. Also, blue lights were everywhere to give the whole place an eerie like glow. You would think we're all gangsters, but we're not.
This is more of like a place for those whose souls are severely lacking in something important in life. Something that all humans deserve to have, but God has not blessed us with. Whatever it is, you'll find another form of it somewhere here. It won't completely or directly mend your broken soul, but it'll put a bandage on it while your soul patiently waits for the missing element in life that only your mind knows it'll never have.
