The cool breeze against her skin, the rush, the fear. All combined into one.
It was like flying.
Then all of a sudden -THWACK- .
She hit the dirt floor.
All the air was knocked out of her and she felt the familiar feeling of weakness.
She looked up and the world appeared to be spinning and rattling, it wouldn't return to normal, she looked up at the orphanage building and it was in flames.
Her eyes widened at the sight and filled with tears.
"That place was hell...but..it's all i ever knew.." She stood up.
"AHG!" She cried then cursed in her agony.
Her insides seemed crushed and broken, but she continued to walk.
She looked around at her surrounding still not yet adjusting to normal, the fire was spreading.
Trees were starting to burn and collapse before her.
"I have to get out of here.." she muttered to herself.
"HELP!" A shrill voice cried.
It sounded like the voice of a young girl.
"HELP, SOMEONE PLEASE!" It continued.
She knew she had to help, it was almost impossible not to.
She followed the call into the burning, smoke infested forest and made her way to what seemed like the heart of the wood.
Tied to the center tree she found a girl who looked around 8 or so.
She had (E/c) eyes filled with tears, nappy (H/c) locks, and blood caked into her pal looking face.
(F/n) rushed to her aid.
"I'm going to get you out of here, don't worry!" She assured her.
"Thank you Miss." The young girl had said.
(F/n) tried her hardest to untie the triple-knot.
No luck.
She cursed at her failure.
The girls eyes widdened, "I think there is a small knife one of them men dropped in hurry to get out of this fire...near, the extra rope over there!" She said thankfully or (F/n) was sure she wouldn't have got her out in time. She looked at the rope and right besides it was the gleaming blade.
She snatched it up and jumped to the sound of the tree behind her falling to the ground.
The frightened girl tied up let out a small yelp to her surprise and (F/n) felt as if she were to herself.
"We have to hurry!" She insisted and franticly started to cut her out.
More and more trees started to give out and drop freely to their fiery fate.
Finally the knot was coming undone and soon cut.
The young girl was freed.
"Come with me! Let's get out of here!" She nodded and they both sprinted to the path out, avoiding the falling trees. "Come on!" (F/n) yelled as the young girl lagged behind.
She stretched out a hand for the girl to grip onto and just as she almost grabbed hold, she tripped and went to the floor.
(F/n) tried to pick her up again, but her herself was weak.
With a couple moments and great struggle they were up again and sprinting once more.
Through black and Orange (F/n) saw a bit of blue creeping its way through the path.
"Just a little more! We're almost there just a little furth-" (F/n) gasped and got cut off by a tree collapsing right in front of them, blocking there path.
"W-what are we gonna do Miss?" The little girl asked.
For once, she didn't know what to do, then thought.
"We're going to have to jump."
"Are you insane? We'll end up killed that way!" Cried the girl.
"We'll end up killed her too! It's death either way so why not try to live." She said.
"It's worth a try." (F/n) prepared herself, "If i die, i die.." She thought then jumped full force and thankfully made it to the other side, colliding with the ground.
She got up. "I'm scared...." The girl said shivering, you could tell in her voice. (F/n) held her hands out, ready to catch her.
The flames were getting stronger and stronger by every second, with each passing tree it had engulfed almost as if it was feeding off of them.
"Trust me, i am too but it's either stand there and die, or jumps towards the unknown- Any way you chose,
There's no turning back." She said to her.
There was a silence then, (F/n) felt the weight of the tiny girl come into her arms.
"I did it!" The girl was shocked, happy, and cheerful all at the same time.

"Yes, we both did." (F/n) smiled as she got a better grip of the girl.
