"Monsters are real,

they live

inside of us,

and sometimes

they win."

SHE AWOKE in the same creaky old, uncomfortable metal bed the orphanage had provided for the children. She rolled over and almost forgot what happened the previous night before. "What?" she thought, "But...how did I end up back here?"

She sat up in bed and thought, "No. No...impossible...It was definitely not a dream, everything was WAY too real, the flames, the smoke, the building almost collapsing before my very eyes." Her mind paused, "It..doesn't make any sense." The door creaked open.

(F/n) hid under the covers expecting someone to burst into the room yelling at her to wake up and she'd be punished late or maybe a few threatening words as usual. She slowly looked up from the blanket, but instead of there being

there being an angry caretaker standing there...there was no one at all. Shocked, (F/n) got out of bed and walked through the door, still, there was no one at all. "Maybe...someone's downstairs.." Her mind reassured her.

She decended down the spiral staircase and heard the low chatter of conversation. She reached the end of the steps and almost into the room. "Oh...good, they're just all downstairs. I knew my mind was just playing tricks on me aga-" that was the end of her thoughts as the horror her eyes saw took over. Gathered around the long table was the children of the orphanage, and each one of them had half of the persons face sitting next to them sewn onto their own.

To finish off the creepy image, was a stitched in smile to match each pair of they're sad, hopeless eyes. (F/n) stepped back and held in a scream. In unison they chanted, "PAY BACK YOUR DEBT (F/N) (L/N)." She froze with tears in her eyes. "What's going on!? Please! Leave me alone!" She yelled at them with clenched fists.

"UNNESSESARY, UNCLEAN, UNWANTED." They chanted back to her like lifeless drones. She ran out the door into one of the many hallways the hellhole had. Panicked, she heard footsteps come down the stairs. She was trapped, she had no where to go, it was either go back into the dining room or face whatever came down those stairs.

As her heart rate increased, it had reached the end of the stairs, it looked like...a caretaker? It had a caretaker's black dress uniform and looked like it had a feminine body frame. but the things that made it different from the others was this one had a white mask and was holding something. She chuckled, "Well, well...now what do we have here..?

(F/n) almost backed up into a wall. As the caretaker walked toward her (F/n) saw she was holding a large butcher's knife, probably owned to the orphange's chef. She swung it around carelessly and giggled a familiar insane laugh,"Didn't I teach you a lesson from last time (F/n)..." The caretaker said in a soft voice. "I don't know what your talking about! Who are you! What is all of this!" (F/n) said shaking and absolutely terrified.

"Oh (F/n)...you know exactly who I am..." The caretaker said cheerfully. She removed her mask to reveal her stunning purple orbs and pushed away the white strands of hair from her young face. "Alice!?" (F/n) exclaimed. She laughed,"Stupid girl....of course I am.." Alice said while placing the knife under (F/n)'s chin, forcing her to look up at Alice.

"And you remember what I said last time..this is your third screw up now, and its One, Two, Three strikes your out in the old, ball, GAME!" She shouted while raising the knife above her head ready to strike. (F/n) thought quick and ran to the side. She bolted up the stairs and through the hallway, into her assigned room #8 (heheh..Death the Kid symetrical #) which she sharred with the orphanage's 'kids', or now, 'monsters'. Panting she barracaded the doors with chairs and miscellaneous things in the room.

As she ran to her bed she heard something pound on the door,"OPEN THIS DOOR!" A low demonic voice crossed with a caretakers, which sounded a lot like Alice's, growled. (F/n) looked for a way out. Her eyes landed on the window....that it! She grabbed her stuffed bunny and opened the window.

Looking back, she realized it might be the last time she'd ever see the orphanage she's come to know for ever since she could remember...but it was for the best. It was dangerous and who knows what else would happen to her if she stayed any longer? "Long jump down, but its better than staying up here." (F/n) said to herself while sitting on the windows ledge. "Here goes nothing!"

The door to the room had burst off its henges.
