You and Sayori climb into your car. Sayori is practically jumping in her seat as she tells you directions to her house that you already know.

"Y'know, you're always welcome at my house, you could've just come over instead of trying to sleep in a car."

"Yeah, say, what were you doing out there by yourself at night without a car Sayori?"

Her excitement comes to a halt.

"Well see, that's a, um, funny story.... you see I-"

The horn of a truck blares in your ears. The bright flashing lights from the semi-truck practically blind you. You pull the steering wheel to the right and the car spins in almost a complete 360. The truck, now behind you, loses control and slams through a fence and lands in a field and explodes. You and Sayori are startled, but Sayori seems more startled. You look over at her. She isn't making any sound, but her eyes stare at the sight of the crashed truck.

"Sayori, are you okay?"

Sayori slowly looks up at you from the truck and nods. She doesn't speak any words, yet her face tells you what she's feeling, and it's pretty empty. You slowly begin to back into the road and continue your way to Sayori's house. Sayori is now less energetic and doesn't seem to be herself. You think that something might be wrong, so you try to spark her energy up again by talking to her. She responds to you talking with small head gestures and small grunts, but then she wipes her face. You look over at her and see her eyes full and sparkling with tears.

"Hey, Sayori, what's wrong?"

She takes some time to respond.

"It's... I think I'm just a bit startled form the truck is all."

You park on the side of the road.

"Sayori, I've known you for years, I know you're a really bad liar. Tell me, what's wrong?"

Sayori blinks. But it isn't just any blink, it's longer, and her eyes seem to have almost changed color after they reopen.

"I'm fine, I just need to get home, I get weird when I'm hungry and I didn't even have second lunch!"

You know how stubborn Sayori can be, so you continue driving her home. You arrive in front of her house, and you exit the vehicle. Sayori seems to have reverted back to her more energetic self and is now showing you her new garden.

"You see these roses, I grew them all myself, and these sunflowers started growing naturally! I think it's just cause I'm such a good gardener! Fufu."

You just can't find it in yourself to tell her that the natural sunflowers are weeds and that the roses have bite marks from worms. You and Sayori enter her house. She instantly leads to the kitchen.

"Alright! I'm starving! What should we eat? I was thinking about some ramen or some kind of easy pasta."

You look at her huge collection of food. You spot some Cup Noodles.

"What about those cup noodles, I like those way more than ramen."

Sayori wastes no time and instantly starts heating water in a teapot and pops them open. While the water is heating, you notice that most of her food is instant microwave or no effort snacks.

"Hey Sayori, you know that I have some experience with cooking, I could show you how to make real food."

Sayori beams at you with excitement.

"Maybe you could teach me one day! Wow, this really is just like the old days when we used to visit each other all the time!"

The hissing from the teapot breaks your thought and Sayori is already pouring the water in the cups full of dried noodles. She hands you your noodles and you begin slurping them up with chopsticks. Sayori turns on the TV and you sit with her on the floor with your noodles. A stereotypical high school romance anime turns on. You and Sayori start laughing about how bad the anime is, pointing out its major flaws. You think to yourself how much fun you are having and how silly it was to think that sleeping in your car would be better. You look at Sayori.

"Hey Sayori"

She turns her head and she has noodles hanging from her mouth like Cthulhu. She slurps them all up at once.

"Yeah?"

"I just wanted to thank you for inviting me to stay the night, this has been fun, we should do it more often."

Sayori smiles and her eyes light up. She seems to be back to normal self.

"It's just like old times, isn't it? Well, it's always fun being with you, thanks for coming over!"

You feel some weight lay on your shoulder. You look over and Sayori's head is resting there. You can smell her hair, as its fragrance of rose wafts its way towards you. You place your arm around her back. The anime cuts to a scene with the main character walking home with a girl. Sayori says in a soft, tired voice,

"That character's my favorite, I relate to her the most. She's always in situations that I'm in. It's almost kinda spooky sometimes."

Then the anime cuts to the inside of the girl's mind, as she thinks about how much she likes the main character.

"Sayori, do you relate to her now?"

Sayori replies while yawning.

"Yeah...Wait no, uh...umm-"

She lifts her head from your shoulder and moves away.

"I, uhhhh"

You find this humorous, as Sayori is usually never backed into awkward situations.

"Calm down, it's just a joke Sayori."

Sayori sighs from relief and moves back over next to you. The anime cuts to a scene of a dog.

"Ooh, look at the dog! I've always wanted a dog, aren't they just the most precious creatures to ever exists!"

You laugh to yourself as Sayori begins ranting about how much she loves dogs. Even though cats are better, Sayori truly is a ray of sunshine.
