Eventually, you and Sayori fall asleep on the floor. You wake up before her and decide to leave. You grab your stuff and leave a note telling her that you left. You climb into your car that's been heated by the afternoon sun. What? It's the afternoon? Your watch beeps and shows "3:30". The car makes a screeching sound as it's old tires strain to pull the weight of the car. You pull up to your house and you walk inside. You wander walk out into the living room and grab your phone from the coffee table and place the Texas Instruments calculator on the coffee table. Your mom hears and walks out into the living room.
"Well, bad news, we have a mold outbreak inside the walls and it's gonna take about a week for the people to kill it. I'm going to stay at your grandparents', can you stay at your friend's house for a week?."
You confirm that you have a place to stay and a happy feeling fills up your chest. Just something about the thought of maybe seeing Sayori more makes you happy.
You wander out the door and up to your car when you spot something on the window. A small piece of paper flapping in the wind, but underneath the windshield wipers almost seems to give off ominous vibes. You slide it out from under the wiper and flip it over. In a scribbled, but bulky text it read,
"How much will you sacrifice for this..."
You crinkle the paper up and chuck it a trash can and yell "Kobe!", but miss. What? You've always been a good shot at throwing things in trash cans. It was only two and a half feet away. You decide to clear your head with some pizza. As you start the car, your phone makes a buzz. You look at the notification, but there is no caller ID. You read the message.
"Certainly the influence causes misdirection..."
You scan the nearby area for anyone or anything suspicious. You drive off in a hurry, making the tires screech on the street again.
The pizza is great, but then again it's pizza, how could it not be. A familiar voice keeps coming from the arcade room though. You can't put your finger on the voice, but you really don't care. After finishing half the pizza, someone walks out of the arcade room. You recognize the face. Oh no. You silently groan as he recognizes you and comes over to sit. His voice is loud and queer.
"Hey y/n, it's been a while!"
The truth is you've seen him around but you always avoid him at all costs.
"Maybe we should get a way to contact each other! Here, I'll give you my discord!"
Could this possibly get any worse? Discord by itself is pretty much useless to you because you hate people and the messaging system prebuilt into your phone serves well enough for someone like yourself. Also, his discord servers are filled to the brim with some of the worst people you've ever known.
"Nah, I uhh don't have discord."
He laughs at this as if it were funny. Like any aspect of this interaction was anything but hell.
"You don't have discord!? How do you even play video games?"
No, this is worse than hell. You really don't care for multiplayer games, sure you have a few, but you always mute everyone and mute yourself. And you just like single player better. You check your phone, and even though there's nothing on the screen, you claim that someone's waiting for you and leave. On the way out he calls,
"Hey, but we haven't talked in like a year!"
You quicken the pace and shout back
"Well, sometimes it really do be like that!"
As you exit the building, you say aloud,
"Ugh, Christian Crebsetter is the worst."
You speed off before he can come through the door. Unfortunately, he's not too bright and probably won't understand you want nothing to do with him. See, he got kicked in the head by a horse when he was little. As you drive you zone out and start thinking about anything, but also nothing. You snap out of it and realize you've ended up back at Sayori's house. You climb out of the car and grab the pizza box. You carry it up to the door and before you can knock, the door swings open. Sayori's face excitedly glances over the pizza and yourself.
"You brought pizza?! You're the best! Hey, guess what I dug up!"
At first, she's a bit much, but you usually get used to her after about thirty minutes with her. Before you can answer her question, she holds up a Sega Genesis.
"Remember how we used to play for hours on end as kids, well I thought we could just do that again!"
She attempts to plug in everything but fails miserably trying to plug in the power cord into the TV. You being a huge nerd that plays video games and reads 'x reader stories' like the filth you are, helps her set everything up. After everything is finished being plugged in, the screen blinks into static, and then the main screen of the Genesis. Sayori plugs in a Mortal Kombat cartridge. Nothing happens at first, so you take it out, blow on it, and slide it back in. Then you and Sayori start playing. She chooses sub zero and you choose scorpion. You utterly destroy her the first round. But then you decide to help her.
"Hey Sayori, I can show you some combos if you want."
"No! I can do this!"
You get a flawless victory and do a fatality.
"Okay fine you can teach me a few combos."
You show her Sub Zero's slide combo. Before you can show her anything else, she gets excited and starts a new match instantly. This time she gets you in a corner with the slide and repeatedly uses the slide over and over on you while you're in the corner. She wins the first round, but while she's laughing at the stupidity of the last round, you whip out the 'Get Over Here!' + Uppercut combo and win the second round. She stops laughing and now she gets you in a corner again. She gets a flawless victory and uses the slide as her fatality. Sayori yells in victory even though you went easy. She now tries playing as Scorpion. You tell her how to do the 'Get Over Here' combo, but she fails to understand. You grab her controller, with her hands still planted on it. Her hands give off a warmth that lightens up your whole body and gives you a fuzzy feeling. She takes a sharp but light breath in and you place your hands on top of yours. You gently move her thumb on the d-pad to Back Back. You take her other hand and quickly press the attack button. The words, "GET OVER HERE!" Sound from the speaker, which breaks the silence and makes Sayori jump. But surprisingly she jumps towards you. It's a nice feeling that she feels you are safe. She leans in closer. You look at her and gently lean in closer... BANG!
Something slams into the window next to you and creates a god awful noise. Sayori jumps back yet again, and you jump yourself. You look at the window which now has a mark of blue paint. You look in horror. It's the Texas Instruments calculator laying on the ground.
