I've always wanted to write a fantasy story. The Inkheart series were all I read when I was in elementary school. Kids would laugh because I was reading these thick-ass books, but I was too caught up in the writing to actually care.
That said, this book is very special to me. I love stories with underlying meanings, historical connection, and depth. In short, I just really wanted to write a story that wasn't made for surface reading. There are no love triangles or 'strong' characters who seem unfazed by the challenges before them. Just men and women who struggle to survive in a magical world that cares little for them or their petty disputes.
All of the paintings and concept art used in the book belong to me. I spent weeks churning out the cover art, character concepts, and the environmental art. So please don't try and steal them otherwise I'll have to take the art down which would break my heart.

Big shout-out to the people who inspired me to write this:
>christamariaalaly and MoranaGlinka who pushed me to write more deeply and taught me to value artistic integrity over statistics.>amyrobinnz whose unapologetic writing style and beautiful fantasy series I have become addicted to. There may or may not be a character in this story who was inspired by Shaz XD
>To my sister, whose account I forgot, who always believes in me, my art, and literally everything else.
>GnomeMercy, the super sleuth whose edit comments and suggestions have been super helpful in making this story more polished.
Thank you for checking this story out. I'll see you in here when the first few chapters officially release!
