A day full of excruciating work and uselessness. Your mind yearned for more; anything more, whether that was more scenery or more friends, you just wanted more. The people you worked with at the diner were seemingly your friends but they weren't, just friendly to you so they steal away your boyfriend, Bucky Barnes.
Bucky was a good looking man; hell, he was the best looking man you've ever seen and you were so lucky to have a guy that was good looking and kind to you. Unfortunately, due to his great looks, many others thought that it would be okay to try and steal him away from you.
Ever since you were younger, you never really were able to stand up for yourself and whenever you had, they would knock you back down, and down, and down again until you were a crying mess in the corner of the room while others laughed at you.
When Bucky came around, you two hit it off quite quickly. Bucky would do anything for you, even stand up to those bullies and you felt happy and lucky to have him, not only for that reason but many others as well.
Still, there was this part of you that doubted everything, that small voice in the back of your head telling you that you weren't good enough for him. You knew Bucky loved you but still, there was definitely other girls prettier than you that Bucky would love to go with instead.
"Eva, so uh... I was wondering if you and I would like to go out for coffee sometime?" Your coworker, Veronica stated as she put away some plates into the cupboard.
You looked at her, "well, I'm actually busy tonight so I not su-," you began to explain, but she cut you off quickly.
"Tomorrow is fine then. Oh, and bring Bucky along, I'm sure he'd love to join." She winked before walking away to deal with some customers.
This is exactly what you meant, you never trusted anyone here and quite frankly, never will. If a miracle were to occur and a woman started working here tomorrow and was genuinely kind and not wanted you for your boyfriend, then you might consider staying here. If not, then you wanted to quit, you were just done with it all; the nasty glares, the sniggers behind your back, the everything.
Night time rolled around and your shift was finally done which you were definitely glad for. You collected your bag and walked out the door, heading towards the street to your house.
If luck was on your side tonight, Buck might even be at your house, waiting for you. Just the thought of wrapping yourself up in his arms made you smile widely and hurry down the path.
As you got to your house, the kitchen light was on and you heard pots and pans being clattered together. When you walked in, you saw Bucky leaning over the stove and cooking something.
"Hey doll, how's it goin'?" He said, lifting his head and coming over to you to plant a kiss to your temple.
You smiled, treasuring the moment before pulling back. "Alright, I guess." You mumbled, not being able to hide your true emotions from him.
Bucky knew immediately that something was wrong and pulled you into a long, deep hug. "Go get cleaned up and changed, I'll have dinner ready by then and we can talk about your day."
This is what you loved about Bucky; he cared for you dearly and was always thoughtful in these situations.
You nodded and gave him a kiss on his cheek before walking to your bedroom to collect your clothes and move to the bathroom. As you were about to leave your room, you spotted one of Bucky's tee-shirts laying on the bed and exchanged yours for his.
You giggled and made your way to the bathroom, turning on the shower to a good temperature before stripping your work clothes off and getting under the water. You sigh in relief, letting all the worries of today wash down the drain, being lucky you didn't have work tomorrow and neither did Bucky so you could have the day off.
It hit you then that you totally forgot about the coffee tomorrow with Veronica and groaned loudly, you truly didn't want to go.
Once you got out, you dress in long, checkered and fluffy pants and Bucky's grey tee-shirt. You brushed your brown hair and looked in the mirror. You had bags under your eyes and your once bright green eyes were dull and tired, you truly needed a six month holiday twice a year.
Walking out, you see that Bucky had just finished serving up the food and looked at you. "Eva, that's my shirt." He pointed out with a smirk on his beautiful face.
"Yeah, and?" You smile innocently as you sat down at the chair, Bucky pushing in your seat afterwards.
He chuckles lightly, "and, what am I meant to wear to bed tonight?"
You pretended to think but really you already knew the answer to that, and Bucky as well. "Sleep with no shirt, duh." You rolled your eyes playfully and Bucky chuckled at you.
During dinner, you explained everything from what happened at work and let your real emotions out. Bucky listened to every word you had to say very carefully making you feel truly loved for.
Minutes rolled by after dinner and Bucky suggested that you cuddle with him on the couch, you almost squealed at his suggest because cuddling had to the one of; if not the best thing, you both did together.
You snuggled underneath his arm he had around you, keeping you warm against his oh-so-great chest. You laid your head against his thumping heart and listened carefully to his heartbeat, finding yourself feeling content and happy; all worries from the day drifting out the window.
"Doll-," Bucky grumbled as if he was angry. You frowned and looked up, finding he wasn't angry but tired. You leaned your hand up and brushed a stray piece of hair from his eyes, he lazily smiled down at you and kissed your fingertips. "You're so perfect, you know that?" He mumbled.
He rubbed your back gently and you smiled up at him. "And you're perfect as well," you complimented causing him to blush and smile.
"I can't believe I got someone as perfect as you in my life." He said, sitting up a little bit, as if he didn't want to fall asleep on you. You shook him off but he grabbed your hands and looked at you seriously. "No baby, I mean it. You are the best thing that's happened in my life, I couldn't ask for anyone better or more beautiful."
You listened to him carefully and blushed at his words. "Bucky, why are you saying this?" Of course it was nice for Bucky to express his love to you, but there had to be a reason why he was saying all this, right?
He swallowed thickly and smiled at you shyly. "W-What? I just want to say it." You gave him an 'I know something's up' look and he sighs. "Because... because I love you." He said and by now his face was as red as a tomato.
You stuttered over your words, "I-I love you t-too, Buck."
Bucky brought you up his body further and snuggled to you. You smiled and kissed his full lips, running your fingers through his soft, irresistible hair and moved to straddle his waist. The kiss wasn't sexual in any way, but loving and caring. His hands were on your hips, rubbing circles against the bone.
Once you pull back, you smiled at him and leaned your head in the crook of his neck. "I love you, Bucky. So much."
"I love you too, Eva. To the moon and back." Bucky whispered back as you felt yourselves fall deeper into the slumber you both needed.
And you never ended up going to get coffee with that bitch, Veronica.
