Chapter 1: Why are you crying?

3rd Person Pov

It's 4:40pm and the kids from different neighborhood are starting to go outside and play. Minji, a six year old kid that likes to go around the park, seemed to be in a bad mood "Minji, were going to the park now! Aren't you coming?" her mom shouted from downstairs "I'm not in a good mood mom!" She responded. Her mom got to her bedroom worried about her child's sudden change of mood

"Minji, is it because you got an B- on your math quiz?" her mom asked and she nodded in the verge of tears"Minji... B- is a very high grade okay? Did you know... when I was in your age... I always get C+" her mother said which made Minji cheer up a little bit. Her mom chuckled at her child's cuteness "Let's go now!"

They got out of the house and Minji immediately ran to the park which was just across the street. She got to her favorite spot near a tree. She was just about to sit down to read a book when "OUCH!" she heard a kid scream, she looked around and saw a a girl, a foreign one, maybe a year younger than her, on the ground with her right knee bloody.

Minji looked around and saw other kids just laughing at the poor girl. She sighed, put her book down the grass and walked towards the kid who just tripped "Hey, Stop crying... You'll be fine" she said but the girl just looked up at her confusedly. Minji pouted because she doesn't know what to do in this situation.

She grabbed something from her bag a water bottle, liquid medicine and a long handkerchief patterned with bunnies and carrots also her name. She kneeled down next to the stranger and said "I will wash your wound" She said with some hand gestures, surprisingly the other girl understood and nodded in response. she slowly poured water over the kid's bloody knee but in surprise the other didn't freak out too much.

After washing the kid's wound Minji pointed a finger at the girl"I'm Minji! What's your name?" she asked showing a cheerful smile"Handong" the kid replied. Minji smiled even more "Nice to meet you!" she said. Handong nodded and finally smiled as well but it later on turned into a frown when Minji started putting some medicine on her wound "O-ouch..." she said.

Minji finally wrapped her knees with a bandage"There you go!" she said cheerfully and Handong looked at her again very confused "Huh?" but Minji just smiled and gave her a thumbs up.

Minji stood up and helped Handong afterwards. They walked towards Minji's favorite place to pick her book back up "Minji! Time to go home now!" Her mother said "Mom! I made a new friend and her name is handong!" She said cheerfully but the smile on her mom's face faded when she saw her kid's friend "What happened to her Minji?" she asked "she tripped mom. I helped her" she said

"韓東! 你在哪" (Handong! Where are you) Minji's mom called for the other woman "Excuse me Miss? Is this your child?" The woman turned her attention to them and ran to their direction "Oh my! What happened to her?" She asked but in a soft voice

"Hi! my name is Kim Minji! Your daughter tripped and I helped her!" Minji said cheerfully "awww Thank you" She turned to Minji's mom and said "You're such a lucky mother to have a child like this. Thankyou verymuch!" the woman said "No problem" She said "I'm sorry but we have to go now" Handong's mom said as she carry her child

"I'm really sorry but we have to go now! See you around Mrs.Kim" She said in a rush

They bid their good bye and Minji ran back to their house and get her clothes changed "I wonder when I can see her again" She mummbled as she got her math book from her school bag and started reviewing math again, afraid that she'll get a B- as her grade. Her father is currently overseas for a business trip and her monther volunteered to quit her job and take care of Minji. Their family was actually a healthy one.
