Prologue

It was 25th of October and Jade was not given a chance to stay at home and sleep her entire day because of the urgent movie taping of their section. Though that she have no great role in the said film, she needs to be there because she is the brain of the film. She's the master of the film's storyline. Johann should be appointed as the director of the film but their classmates keep on insisting that she is the director since she was the one who created the story.

She was sitting on the dusty floor of the porch while petting Misty—TJ's cat—when Christine screamed with frustration inside the living room saying that she was so dumb to forget the lines that she must say to Rad for both of them are lead characters of the said film. Jade smirked as she caress the soft fur of the feline, she's now picturing the disappointed look on Johann's face since he wants to do things perfectly in one take.

"Christine's loud, isn't she?" Jade said as she kept on caressing the cat's fur. The cat meowed as if she fathom what Jade had said to her. The door creaked open as four of her classmates got out of the house including Jen.

"Naku Jade! Tumayo ka nga d'yan!" Jen raised her voice at her. Jade just looked at her with a blank expression in her face. She already knew why Jen yelled at her, that's why she don't mind it like she used to. Jen is one of those people who cares for her but she's still confused because she thinks that Jen's just doing it as part of her "plasticity" or maybe Jen is really true to her and she's just afraid to trust people again.

She let out a heavy sigh and caressed the cat's fur once more. She doesn't show any care on her four classmates who did nothing but stare at her.

"Pareho talaga kayo ni Fred, ang hilig niyo sa pusa." Claire said that made Jade stop caressing the cat's fur.

Fred. That name reminds her the days where she was so stupid and blind. Too blind of love—no, love blinded her itself!

She clenched her fist, she doesn't want to hear someone mention the name of that person but it looks like Claire got a sharp mouth and even mention the name of the said person.

"I heard that he wants to be with you again," Steffi said. "Papayagan mo ba siya, Jade? I know you'll say yes kasi both of you really love each oth—"

"No," Jade answered before Steffi could finish her sentence. She looked at her with a blank face once more. "I will never be his again."

She is telling the truth. She would never be Fred's girl again.

"I know you loved him, you just can't deny that Jade..." Rudy scoffed.

She smirked at Rudy, "That's what lovers supposed to do, Rudy. We're both in love with each other that's why I say those to him."

Tumayo siya at pinatong si Misty sa ibabaw ng veranda. "I am on the progress of healing my heart. And for the record, I may plant a small hatred to Fred but I hate myself more. I let myself believe in his sugarcoated words and shits but in the end I was left broken."

Hindi na sila umimik pa at nanatiling nakaawang ang mga bibig nila. They never expect those words from her because they know Jade as the quiet type of person na puro lang sarcasm at bluntness lumalabas sa bibig kapag nagsalita na. Mukhang hindi talaga sila makapaniwala.

Jade fixed herself together with Keith, Rad, and Johann, they bid their goodbyes to TJ and started walking to the park. As they walk, Jade couldn't help but smile as Johann started talking about the stunning CGI effects of Avenger movies. They both have the same taste when it comes to movies and it's a good thing too since they are both best friends.

Her smile faded when she realized something. Something that isn't right for her.

She should not fall for her best friend.

But it's too late, she already falls for Johann. Another stupid thing she does in her lifetime.

"Hey lesbian bitch!" Rad shouted. "Picture daw tayo sabi ni Keith!"

Jade sighed as she tag along with Rad who is holding the 3-meter selfie stick. Rad placed her arm around Jade's shoulders as they posed for a picture. After eight takes, he checked the pictures and pouted after he sees that Jade wasn't smiling in every pictures taken by him.

"Hindi ka talaga ngumingiti sa camera, ano?" He said. Jade just look at him with an uninterested look as she checked the pictures too.

"I still looked human though," aniya. "And you know me Rad, I don't smile on pictures. My smiles are reserved for the person whom I wished to stay with me for the rest of my life."

She secretly stares at Johann who's been taking wacky pics of himself on the corner not far from her and Rad. She wants him to be with her even if it is wrong. She wanted Johann as hers but sadly the lad already have someone special for him and thanks to Jade, he finally found the one.

"Kulang ka talaga sa aruga Jade," he replied. "Bigyan kaya kita ng boyfriend para ngumiti ka naman..."

Pinanlakihan niya ng mata ang binata. He may be joking but still, he can do some things (like giving Jade a boyfriend) seriously. Rad is careful with his words and Jade would be dead once he finds her a boyfriend.

"No thanks," she replied and crossed her arms. Rad raised his thick brows with disbelief. He cannot believe that Jade refused his witty offer for Jade used to agree in everything he says.

"I think you're still in love with Fred."

Jade's forehead creased, "What makes you say that I'm in love with that hooligan? We're done with our sick master-and-slave relationship. I can't stand being with a controlling freak like him!" She bursted out. Rad was left tongue-tied after that moment.

Jade started walking away from her classmates. There's a pang in her chest after saying those words to Rad. Guilt was all over her system as she started to think that Rad would be unhappy with her actions.

She doesn't want to have another person in her life anymore. She may have a crush on Johann but still, she wants to isolate herself away from the others for she also believe that she's carrying a curse and no one could understand her pain and how painful it was for her to drown in the abyss of sorrows which she created in her mind.
