Walking

We walked down to the bus stop to take Ringo home. It was pretty awkward walking with him, just the two of us. I wonder what John talked to Ringo about when he walked Ringo to the studio. If only I was just as confident as John... I'm too shy to say a word. Usually, John or Paul would start a conversation, and I would just hop in. If you couldn't tell, I'm terrible at starting conversations, so this was pretty awkward.
Ringo and I walked what seemed like meters apart from each other, which probably looked weird from other people's views who were passing by. I wanted to get closer to him, but I don't want Ringo to feel too uncomfortable. Maybe he liked walking far apart from people? I don't know, but I didn't want to blow my chance of losing his trust already. Again, I'm a pretty shy guy.
It was almost half way to the bus stop when Ringo broke the silence.
"So uh, George Harrison, right?" Ringo looked up at me. His eyes shined in my heart, and it made me feel butterflies inside. I could feel my face heating up, and my heart pumping. This had never happened to me before, especially not a male. But all I could think about when I looked into Ringo's eyes was all the good things that could happen if we got together. All the time we could share. We would be like 2 old men in our rocking chair, sitting there and smiling, having the best days of our lives. And we could die peacefully, watching the sun set and cuddling each other in our warmth. But I was getting way too ahead of myself. Ringo probably still waited for me to answer, and I was already blushing on the spot. After all those thoughts, I almost forgot the question.
"Uh... Yeah..." I said, hiding my face with my bangs and looking down at the ground, glancing at his eyes a couple more times.
"That's cool. You have a nice name." Ringo grinned and looked down at the pavement.
"Oh... uh... thanks..." I was blushing more than ever at this point. "Richard is a nice name, too. I quite like it."
"You think?" Ringo smiled even more, blushing a little this time. "Thanks."
"Yeah..." I smiled, looking at Ringo. "So, what do you think of the new band?"
"I think it's pretty cool. You three seem to be pretty nice. Y'know, I've been in the band 'Hurricanes' for a while. You've probably heard some of our songs. The Beatles sound like a real cool band to be part of." Ringo looked up at me.
"Oh, yeah! I've heard of the Hurricanes before! Pretty popular here in Liverpool, eh?"
"Yeah, it was pretty fun there. But The Beatles are probably gonna be more popular than them. I can already tell. The Beatles..." Ringo thought. "Where'd you come up with that?" Ringo tilted and shook his head in a confused matter, giggling a little. "Sounds kinda funny, doesn't it?"
"Well, we wanted a catchier name. Something that people would like. We decided on The Beatles because we wanted to incorporate the word "beat" in it. Hopefully we don't get confused with the bug." I giggled, Ringo laughing as well.
As soon as we sat on the bench at the bus stop, a lady walked up to us. "Oh my god!! Richard Starkey? I'm SUCH a big fan of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes!! How's Rory doing?" The lady panicked, excitedly.
"Oh, well uh, he's doing great." Ringo blushes a little of embarrassment. He seemed confused. That lady probably hasn't read the news on Ringo leaving the band.
"Ahh!! It's such a pleasure to meet you! Can I have an autograph?" The lady pulled out a pen and the back of a random paper. The other side looked like a grocery list. Ringo scribbled his signature on it pretty quickly. He could see the bus driving up in the distance. The longer he wrote, the closer the bus got. He handed the paper back to the lady. Of course she freaked out. "Thank you so so much!! And who is this? Is he joining the band or-" That's when Ringo cut her off, very quickly, too.
"No, this is my friend. Ive actually left that band... if you haven't read. I'm joining the band with him." Ringo said, nervously.
"Oh... well..." The lady started tearing up, but blinked it back. It must have been a pain for the fans that Ringo was parting with the band. "It's nice to meet you..." She put her hand out to shake it. She probably didn't want an autograph because she thought that this new band wouldn't be as good. I shook her hand, and right after I let go, the bus was already parked next to us.
"We gotta go..." Ringo grabbed my hand and pulled me into the bus, I dragged behind. We sat next to each other, and the bus drove off. I couldn't hear what that lady said since we just left her right there, but we started laughing. It wasn't that funny, but it seemed that we couldn't stop.
