Chapter 7: The Lies

Lexi’s POV

I was sweating, and blood is dripping from my feet from where I stepped on the sharp thing. It was so silent that you could practically hear it. She was getting closer, oh my god Dana do something!

He did. He grabbed her and kissed her. “What was that for?” she said while letting go of him, “oh nothing I just wanted to do it. Now get in the shower, we’re gonna be late for school” he said “but-” he cut her off “Shan, go to the bathroom, I’ll be there in a sec” she listened to him and went into the bathroom. Once the water started running, he opened the door, to see blood on the floor. “Oh my god, what happened” he said shocked, and with a little concern, then helping me to a chair, I lifted my feet up onto his knee to see that it was cut. “I stepped on something sharp and I guess I cut it” I said, he grabs the first aid kit, “oh yeah, I kind of dropped my cup in there yesterday and I guess I missed some when I cleaned it up” he said then kneeling down in front of me, and pouring this red liquid onto a cotton ball. “The cut doesn’t look to bad” he said examining my cut “what are you going to do now doctor?” I say jokingly and he laughs a little. But then suddenly puts the cotton ball on my cut and holy crap it stung. 

“SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!” I shout, and he puts his hand over my mouth “shut up, Shannon is upstairs!” he whisper yells. After that he puts a band aid on my cut. “Does that feel better?” he asks, getting up. “Yes, yes its better. But god, what the heck is that, it stings like a bitch” I say not expecting an answer “anyway, I’m gonna grab my uniform and take a shower at my house” I say, “are you sure you can walk with that cut?” he asks “do you even care?” I ask back “nope, not really” he replies “well then….” I say. “BABE GET IN HERE!” Shannon shouts from the bathroom. “You better go up there, see you in school” I said, “see ya there” he says back and then walks upstairs and into the bathroom. 

Shannon’s POV 

After the shower, I got changed before Dana so I’m downstairs in the kitchen sitting on a chair just staring at the closet. I could’ve sworn someone else was in here. When I was walking downstairs I did hear Dana talking to someone, but when I got to the kitchen I saw no one there so I didn’t bother asking. But I know someone was in that closet and I know it wasn’t a ghost, I have been in this house so many times to know that it wasn’t a ghost. Dana better not be hiding something or someone from me, or something bad is going to happen. If he is hiding something from me, I am sure to find out what it is. 

Dana’s POV 

“Babe I’m ready lets go!” I walk into the kitchen while putting my shirt on. “No, no I think you should keep the shirt off” she says and I pull her into a kiss, and pick her up and put her on the counter and me standing in between her legs. “When are your parents coming back?” she asks “in like 30 minutes” I reply “but we really need to get to school we are late” I then pull her to the front door, I open the door while she puts on her shoes. After she gets up and walks over to a pair of pink and white gym shoes, and my eyes widen, as if they were going to fall out of their sockets. “These shoes, they look like Lexi’s gym shoes... infact wait, these are Lexi's gym shoes” she says just staring at them “no they're not” I say in denial “yes, yes they are” she argues back. “What would Lex’s shoes be doing in my house?” I ask “I don’t know Dana you tell me” she says crossing her arms “they are not Lexi’s shoes, their my moms” I say.

“I know exactly what Lexi’s shoes look like, see it even has the same rip on it from when Lexi tripped over, those are hers for sure. I can never forget the image of those horrible pink and white shoes, that I don’t even know anyone would be caught dead in” she said in a bitchy way. I kind of felt that I had to defend Lexi. “Why, why would you say it like that?” I ask “you’re so slow Dana, do you not get the fact that I don’t like her, she is practically like a whore, she’s got all of the guys at school wrapped around her little finger, and why do you even care, I thought you didn’t like her. Lets just go” she says and then walks out of the house.
