Chapter 8: Cry me a River

Lexi’s POV

 Ok so I was in the hallway with Alex, trying to sort things out, because now the entire school thinks I am a whore. Suddenly I felt a hand grip onto my hair pulling it. It was Shannon, obviously “you little bitch!” she yelled at me, I saw Dana just standing there shocked, but I didn’t pay much attention to him.

“I knew that someone was in the house this morning, and that was you! I bet you try and climb all over Dana don’t ya when I’m not there, you little slut! I knew I would never like you, I knew that I shouldn’t have trusted you! I let you be in the group and this Is how you repay me!” she yelled again, and pulling my hair tight. “Shannon let me explain, the rumours are not true!” I say trying to persuade her “I’m not an idiot Lexi, so next time you try to hide something from me, make sure you don’t leave your ratchet gym shoes by the front door!” 

 “Shannon, get off her, you don’t even know the real story. Let go!” Alex says trying to push her away, but Shannon pushes Alex and she ends up banging into the locker doors. “Hey, hey watch it Shannon!” Gabe said, then comforting Alex, “just let go of her” he tells her. But she doesn’t do as he says. Right now everyone is crowding around us, and Will, Cole and David stand next to Dana “Shannon oh my god let her explain!” Cole says “no! see, you whore, you got all the guys backing you up. Why would you even go to her side when you’ve known me longer!” she shouts at the boys but they don’t answer. “I’m not scared of you Shannon, you are being pathetic, making a scene like this, just let go of my hair” I demand but she pulls on it even tighter, I felt like my hair was going to fall out. “I hate you! I cant believe this is what you do after I make you popular, you have no respect, you are a whore remember that Lexi, remember that every time you try and get into Dana’s pants!” she shouts, and I have just had about enough of it. 

I twist her arm, and she releases my hair. I take her hand and pull it behind her back so that she cant move. “Ouch, what the heck!” she yells “I don’t want to do this to you, but your not even letting me explain, one I didn’t do anything with Dana, two its true that Dana did beat up Ricky but because he was raping me at the dance, and three you do not have the right to call me a whore, when I saw you grinding on some guy at the dance that wasn’t Dana.” I said directly to her, and everyone starting gasping and then whispering. I think I got her even more angrier, when she slaps me around the face and she starts pulling my hair again. I don’t want to start a fight with Shannon, but she physically hit me, so I pushed her on the ground. “LEXI!” Alex shouted. Mrs Reid our English teacher came and yelled at us “what on earth is going on here!” no one answered, she looked at me and Shannon, Dana stepped forward, and helped Shannon up, she tries to hug him, but he backs away. “Ya know what Shannon, you’re the whore” he said and my eyes widened “MR VAUGHNS!” Mrs Reid said. But he blanked her. “Ya know before you start calling someone else a whore, you might want to look in the mirror” he said to her taking his phone out and showed her the picture of her and some guy making out, Shannon’s face was priceless she is so in shock that she has gone paper white. “No I don’t need your explanation, I already gave you a chance, and I’m not wasting my time on you. We are through” he says sadly “what did you say to me?” she asks and now her white pale face turns red. “You heard me” he said sassily, and everyone starts clapping, but that is broken by, “Miss Cruz, Miss Johnson, Mr Vaughns and Mr Owen, Principles office now!” Mrs Reid yells.

 All 4 of us came out of the principle’s office. Shannon was just given a good yelling at for starting a huge fuss, Ricky got suspended, and as for me and Dana we were off the hook. Since my mom wasn’t here, and I lived with dana’s family I asked them not to call my mom, or the Vaughns because I didn’t want to cause them trouble, Dana didn’t get into much trouble either, since he beat up Ricky to save me. We all awkwardly just stared at each other. Ricky didn’t say anything because he was too angry to and I could tell Shannon wanted to beat the crap out of me but she couldn’t because she was too hurt. I grabbed my skateboard and was about to go home on it, when Dana takes it off me. “I’ll take you home, since that’s where we are both headed” he said, and we both went into his car.
