Skye laughed as she leaned against the table. She'd finished school for the day and was at the nearby diner, working her shift. She was luckily, serving the table of one of her best friends, and ex-boyfriend, Marshall."So, finally a public date? About time." the blonde smiled, rolling up the sleeves of her black shirt and adjusting her name pin, something she hated because it said 'Skylar' rather than 'Skye'. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun and her nails a simple French manicure. Her uniform was a black button-up shirt, black skinny jeans and a pair of black heels. She looked great in anything, Marshall had to admit but he was glad they didn't work out and decided to just be friends.
He was glad because of who he had now.
"Yeah, yeah. Cut me some slack. He's been nervous." Marshall laughed. Skye gave him 'the look'.
"Just him?"
"Okay, I have too." The black haired boy confessed.
"You'll be fine. Don't worry about it." She reassured him. The pair couldn't continue their conversation, due to a table of boys in the corner, clicking their fingers and whistling after Skye. She looked ready to kill. "Excuse me while I deal with these assholes." She muttered, walking away with the click of her heels on the tiled floor.
Marshall soon saw the blonde walk back towards the kitchen, grumbling to herself about the customers she'd just served. The boy couldn't blame her, he knew them well - the boys from the basketball team. Ordinarily, Marshall wouldn't associate with them but because he was the school's top track runner, he didn't have much choice.
"Hey Whittiker." One of the boys called. That proved how little interaction the boys had, they only new Marshall's surname and even then it's because it was on the back of his track T-shirt.
"Hi." He grumbled back with a fake smile. The boy in question, Daniel, walked over and struck up a conversation that, honestly, was none of his business.
"Date or somethin'?" he leaned against the table. Marshall kept his cool and tried his hardest to sound polite but just the boys presence (and the volume he was chewing his gum at) was testing his patience.
"Yes actually. And they'll be here any minute now so I'd really appreciate it if you would piss off." That was only partly true, Chase was actually supposed to be at the diner in fifteen minutes - he was helping Zuma with the school's radio station like usual. Chase loved the radio station, he knew that people weren't watching him, but listening instead. It made him happy.
Marshall's phone whistled, letting him know that he had a message.
