A/N: Hey Lovelies! Before we start this second chapter I have a few things to talk about. 1) If anyone knows how to do the thing where you can put a cast at the beginning of the chapter message me or tell me in the comments how to because for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I'm beginning to think its just a thing premium members can do, but it probably isn't and is open to everyone and I'm just being stupid. Also, as this story kicks off and gets more views, I would be super interested if someone wanted to make a trailer for it! So message me if you're interested! Alright, that's about it, oh yeah,  this chapter is dedicated to the people who are making this story possible, my inspirations, the rp chat <3, love you guys, and now onto the story woot woot. We might be getting some new characters introduced in this chapter.

"May you fall in love with someone who never gets tired of saving you from your own chaos"

A look of anger crossed Blake's face. He had never expected this girl to be an addict. She was too... light. Too happy. Overall, she seemed like she was too good for it. Too good for drugs. But then, he had to remind himself, that he just met her today, and he didn't really know her at all. He didn't know who she really was. All he really knew about her was that her name was Shaylah Scott. But, with how angry he was, he might as well have known her forever. Blake's head was suddenly flooded with memories about his father. About the man he was before the drugs about the family he had before the drugs. Then he thought about the after. He thought about the downward spiral his dad went through. He knew one thing: he wasn't going to let that happen to her. He stormed down the stairs.

"Shaylah, what the hell is this?!" he shouted

"Advil." Shaylah rushes.

"Really? Because this doesn't look like Advil, it looks like hydrocodone." Blake snaps.

"Fine. You're right." Shaylah admits, not even being able to look Blake in the eye, her eyes cast to the ground "It's hydrocodone. And some hallucinogens." she says.

"Why, Shaylah. Why would you do this?" Blake asked her, pain in his eyes and emotion in his voice.

"Because it helps. It helps with the pain. It helps me forget!" Shaylah said, a cross of anger and sadness in her eyes and lacing her voice.

"This doesn't help with pain!" Blake yelled. "It'll do nothing but make a hole in your heart, in your body, in your soul bigger than any pain you'll ever experience!" Blake yelled back.

"I'd rather have that, than be reminded that my dad is gone. That my family is permanently broken. I'd rather have the pain numbed, even if it is only for a few hours, than be reminded of the fact that my life will never be the same. That I'm alone all the time. That my mom couldn't give fewer shits about me, because now that my dad's gone, the only thing she cares. about is hooking up with guys and partying, because she doesn't want to lose all her money. But what she really doesn't want to do is face the pain that she lost my dad. The drugs make me feel like I'm not alone. When really, that's all I am. Alone. It's been that way for years. And its not going to change." Shaylah said "Drugs aren't a permanent solution. But goddamnit, it helps me. NOTHING ELSE HELPS ME." Shaylah screamed.

Blake sighs, his facial features softening. He grabbed her, pulling her into a tight hug, rubbing her back with one hand, and as she cried, burying her head in his chest, distracted, he tossed the bag of pills into the  with his other hand.

"Shhhh, its alright" he said, hugging her tightly "You'll be okay. It'll all be okay." he reassured.

After a few minutes, he and Shaylah moved to the couch, and Blake held her,  rubbing her back until she fell asleep, slipping his arm from out from under her, carefully getting up and putting a blanket around her. He grabbed his towel, walking up to the shower and getting in, leaning against the shower wall with a sigh.
