Yu Dao's face was pale, his eyes bloodshot. He descended unto the city and picked up the sword, balancing it on the edges of his fingertips.

"It seems his master is indeed incredibly strong," he traced some characters on the flat face of the blade and suddenly there was a whooshing sound as it began to glow more brightly, the green gas floating round its edges attacked the air licking it as if it contained something delicious to be devoured. Yu Dao took it. ascended into the air again then gazed down at the city, when he saw Li Dan and Li Jia he squinted, like an archer taking aim, then threw the sword at them. The two siblings could not move, frozen in shock, the sword flew swiftly through the air, doing cartwheels in the air as it bore down upon them. The city of people looked on, unsure what was happening.

The sword was just about to pierce through the window when it turned and scraped the wall, slowing down before returning in a loop to where Li Dan and Li Jia sat, still shocked. The green vaporous aura that clung to it formed into two large clawed hands which grabbed the siblings and then, with one on either side of it, the sword shot off into the distance, until all that was left was the twinkling of an eye, eventually even that disappeared.

Li Dan and Li Jia watched as their homeland disappeared below them. They had never ventured out of the city so everything was new to them. New and scary. They sat there, each on their own big green hand, silent, still processing everything that had happened. The land below was a blur of black and green and yellow and so many colours. Li Dan spoke first,

"Are you going to tell me what he told you now?" He stared, somewhat pitifully, at Li Jia, doing his best puppy-dog eyes, the edges of his lips drooping sadness. She wanted to laugh at how calmly he was able to dismiss the strangeness of the situation. He had been very good at adapting ever since he was young, she hoped that trait would stay with him when he went there.

"What? Why are you just staring at me?! The wind will change and your face will get stuck that way you know."

Li Jia smiled at him, "You know I love you, don't you?" He wrinkled his nose, apparently disgusted. She laughed, "you can't hide behind that face mister! You have to say it back." In reply, the wrinkles grew deeper, he squeezed his eyes shut. She rolled her eyes as if it was no big deal but internally, something clutched at her heartstrings and pulled them taut, tugging at her throat, catching her voice like a lump that stuck there, unable to escape.

Li Dan stared at her, she had a way of making awkward statements like that. He didn't know why, but after careful reflection, he decided it was probably because she was a girl, and girls were just like that.

The blurring landscape below began to shape itself and its colours separated as the sword slowed down, Li Dan stared hungrily at the ground below, it was his first time flying and he felt quite nauseous. He had felt his intestines jolted when the sword snatched him from the floor but since then the ride since then had been very smooth.

As it slowed to a stop, the sword began to descend, until it was hovering a few feet above the ground. A large stone church, grey and forbidding, watched the two siblings. The green gas hand holding Li Jia dropped her and melted back into the blade. Li Dan stared. Li Jia stared back... that's when he knew, he knew what Lin had told her.

"No!" He struggled against the green gas, pounding his little fists against it, trying to force it open, but it made no difference. Li Jia's eyes were glistening as she watched him, as the sword prepared to leave, she mouthed three silent words, I love you, and then the blade shot off, and Li Dan lost sight off her. He gave up fighting and collapsed into a heap, his body wracked with heavy sobs, shivering violently with each breath it caught and stretched taut.
