MITCHEL'S POV*

I wasn't really looking forward on going to that stupid party of Gates, but Christian wouldn't let me skip it.
I was sure that Misty would be there, and I wasn't ready to see her again. I knew that I'd fall for her as soon as I'd see her beautiful presence, but I had to be strong and not let her get in my head once again. I needed to prove to everyone that I was doing just fine without her, and that dating Jackie was more than enough.

"Baby! Let's go!" I heard my girlfriend's voice and let go of my thoughts. That's when I realized that her car was parked outside Gates' house and I slowly opened my door and got out.

Soon enough we made it to the front door, and walked in the building.
There were a lot of people, the music wasn't too loud, and everyone looked sober. This party wasn't the type of parties I was usually going to. People looked fancy and I immediately felt like a fish out of water, my anxiety showed up, and I really wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, but Jackie noticed and grabbed my hand.

"It's going to be ok.. There's nothing you should worry about in here." she quietly spoke and I looked at her, I was grateful for her words, but she had no idea that Misty was going to be in the party.

"Fine.." I hesitantly said and she led me to the luxurious kitchen of the house to get something to drink.

As soon as alcohol entered my system I started feeling calm and we went to a different room, where Christian was with Gates, and Clinton was flirting with a random girl.

"Happy Birthday." I said to Gates and she raised her eyebrow.

"Oh wow, thanks for being so alive! You totally meant that.. Not.." Gates responded.

"Well, that's how I talk, that's the way I sound.. Excuse me, you're gonna have to fight my parents, not me." I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever, thank you anyway!" she said and went back to sucking face with Kras.

"This party is so dead.." I exclaimed.

"Don't be rude.. It's just a different type of party..." Jackie said to me.

"Nah, fuck it, I'm going to put on some good music.. This is trash.." I groaned.

"You can't do this! It's not your party!" Jackie whisper-yelled at me.

"Watch me!" I said and walked away. Three minutes later a Travis Scott song echoed through the speakers and everyone looked baffled. I made my way back to where I was standing before and Jackie gave me a death glare.

"Of course.. It was you that put on this song.. You know I've payed the Dj for a reason." Gates said in annoyance.

"Well.. You are dumb then.. Who pays a Dj to play stupid, soulless music?" I smirked.

"I'll seriously throw you out of here, if you don't behave like a normal human being." Gates spoke and I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever, people like this kind of music.. See?" I sarcastically asked and pointed at the people that were dancing. "And btw you can throw me out of here whenever you want to.. It's not like your party is the greatest event of the year or something." I chuckled.

"Ok..Mitchel you're being too rude!" Jackie said and Gates nodded annoyed.

"Yeah.. Your girlfriend's right... I don't want to cause a scene in here... Just act decently, for God's sake." Christian spoke intensely.

"Fine, fine.. Just chill man!" I said in a calm, cool way.
